I'm getting my boyfriend a chip for his truck for Christmas. Just wondering how good the Edge Juice chip was, if anyone happens to know. Good idea? Any other suggestions??
Thanks in advance.

100hp chip w/ attitude monitor.. He's already got an AFE cold air intake, so I figured this would be a good idea!

I got the Edge Juice with Attitude Monitor. Great chip and it is especially nice to have the Attitude monitor to keep an eye on your EGT's, Turbo Boost, % back pressure and engine Temp. I would highly recommend you get gauges to monitor at the very least EGT's & Boost. Have your pyrometer set pre-turbo to get the most accurate readings on your EGT's.
With the edge set up I have increased my fuel mileage 3 to 5 MPG from stock. I have had no issues with the Chip acting up.
Also, the monitor you can set your power settings inside the cab (0-stock upto 5-Extreme 125HP). Also, you can setup your transmission settings, low boost fueling on each power setting & set the size tires you are running on your truck as well set your max Turbo boost.
Also, if you want more power you can get the HOT JUICE download to give you level 6 - but I recall it may void your Edge warranty.
Also, for a stocking present.... would be a AFE stage 2 CAI for his truck to help reduce the EGT's.
You can also, look at Bullydog which is a stackable chip that will give you even more power and another to look at is Banks.

I have a Smarty downloader. It is very flexible, can change tire height, clear codes, removes the speed limiter, can raise the rev limiter and of course increase power. The support for this product is unequaled. There are many different tunes that can be downloaded into the Smarty to be put on the truck. You can get everything from mild to wild along with a half power mode for emissions purposes. The highest power level available is 230 additional hp. This downloader is untraceable as well. Truthfully though if any dealer catches you with any power enhancing product installed they can void your warranty whether its a downloader or a box/chip! The statement is right on the valve cover that the warranty will be void if the power is increased above the level intended for its current application, doesn't matter if its a downloader or not.
As far as I'm concerned the Smarty is the best product on the market because of its flexibility. The only drawback to the Smarty or any true downloader is that you can not adjust the power on the fly. There are also no gauges associated with the Smarty so you must get gauges to adequately monitor the engine.
Other boxes do their work by intercepting signals to and from the engine control module and alter them to produce power. The Smarty works by uploading a new fueling program into the ECM. This allows it to fine tune better than add on boxes.
However it all in the end depends on what you want to do. The Edge Juice w/ Attitude is a good product that includes gauges and can provide fueling backdown so the engine won't be damaged.
Please check the forums on http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/
There are many threads about the Smarty, Edge, Bullydog and other fueling upgrades there so you can make a better decision.
Also see:http://www.madselectronics.com/
for info on the Smarty.
Finally please do not go with Banks. They are way over rated for the price you would pay! Most folks on any diesel forum will tell you that they are underpowered and overpriced!

I had an Edge on my 05 Cummins and loved it. Did a lot of towing and what a difference it made.
You can get the edge box (4 levels) if you already have gauges installed, or get the "juice with attitude" which comes with gauges, a mount and now an external switch to change levels at will.
