I have to do this compare and contrast chart on Commercial Fishing on whether it is necessary and environmentally safe or dangerous to the ecosystems? So far, I can only find how it's bad. Can anyone help me out?

Also, if you could give me some helpful websites that would help a lot! Thanks!

Like any industry it has good and bads I don't know what area you are from but I'm from Gloucester,Mass which is the oldest and was (was being key word) the largest fishing city in the United States. I'm old enough to have participated in and seen this industry at it best and have also seen the decline of this industry in this region due to regulations. There is a lot of argument from both sides on the sustainability of the commercial fishing industry.I would suggest you go to the NOAA website they are the agency that tracks all this information.

I can't say any good about commercial fishing most all are greedy mongers!
The NMFS is so to the commercial side of fishing you cant believe their reports at all.I have worked on both fronts and will never understand the comm fisherman mentality the majority only think for personal gain no matter what!
I know not all do the bad things I have witnessed and I have worked for a few that made me wonder how they could be of such good morals. But to many have gone past the ethical moral and legal side just for the gain of a dollar.

From a recreational point of view not much good to say about the commercial fishing industry beside everyone needs to earn a living, The fault nevertheless doesn't lie eith the commercial industry, the fault lies on how recreational fishing statistics are kept. There is no way to keep track of how many fish the recreational fishermen and fisherwomen catch each year. There lies the problem.

Personally I'm against commercial fishing, the reason for this is the fact that they are slowly taking our fish stocks that are already just surviving anyhow, they don't seem to care about undersized fish and until it all stops there Will be no fish left in our seas. Its very likely that you will find websites that are against them.

Well It would depend on the fish that are being caught, and how much they take daily/monthly/yearly, that sort of thing. It could help by controling the population of some fish, that may be practically taking over, but of course if too many are taken from the environment it would become unbalenced. I guess it's a give or take thing... Hope this helps!
