No.
The publications of Jehovah's Witnesses are offered without charge. Voluntary contributions toward their worldwide work are accepted, of course.
As the questioner notes, Jehovah's Witnesses define all of their beliefs from the bible, and explain them well in their publications. Witnesses generally instruct new bible students with the aid of a book entitled "What Does the Bible Really Teach?". It is available in dozens of languages, and can be requested from any Jehovah's Witness.

As was mentioned, the bound volumes are offered at no charge, just like the rest of our literature. However, I think it is really important to remember that although all of our literature is offered at no charge, it does cost money to produce. We demonstrate our appreciation for the literature by our voluntary donations. When we make a modest donation, we also help to provide Bible literature to those around the world who may not be able to contribute any money at all.

They are, indeed, free.
And if the Kingdom Hall runs out (which mine is famous for) there's always eBay lol
My hubby buys older material off there a lot. Most of the time, we can find what we need through friends, but the works of Russell, Rutherford and some of the older yearbooks and bound volumes are harder to come by.
No one should have any trouble obtaining newer items though so feel free to talk to your Conductor about building your home library.

Allthe literature is without charge. However, because all the work is voluntary donations are accepted. The amount is up to you. I know how much the literature costs because my husband was the literature servant in our last congregation and has a list of the costs, but no one is ever asked to pay, it is left to the individual.

No you don't have to pay, just like all our publications, but a donation would be accepted if you like to help out with the worldwide work.
Remember each one contributes with what his heart tells him.
Keep up the good work.

The work that we do is on a voluntary donation basis. We don't charge for any of our literature, but if you would like to make a donation feel free. You should talk with your bible study conductor....i'm sure they will be happy to explain it to you. Keep up your study!...That's encouraging! :)

I got mine (three of them) free.
None of the literature published by Jehovah's Witnesses is sold. That includes DVDs, CDs, cassettes. We accept voluntary contributions, but it's not obligatory.
Jesus said "You received free, give free"

Well, from what I witness here, if the apostates can get their hands of the JW's books and magazines; anybody else can. I wonder if they would mail me all this things to my address. I want to read their latest books then I know what they're all talking about. Especially their "Daily Texts".

All of our literature is provided to those interested without cost. Any who want to contribute toward our worldwide Bible education work are welcome to do so, but it is not required to obtain the publications.
