Best diving - Great Barrier Reef, no question there
Scenery - There are lots of great scenic areas. Blue Mountains, Great Ocean Road, most of the beaches especially up North.
Nicest people - Brisbane. Viva Brisvegas. Everytime I have been there, I have found them to be very friendly and accommodating. People from Brisbane are by far the nicest in Australia. I'm not being biased as I am not from Brisbane
Coldest beer - Any pub will sort you out there mate. Enjoy many of our fine beers including Coopers, James Boags, Cascade, Melbourne Bitter and Toohey's Extra Dry.
Have fun on your holidays

Nobody drinks Fosters here mate, it's all about Emu Bitter, VB, Toohey's, Carlton Draught etc (not that I drink beer - but my friends all do, muahah).
Try the West Coast! Perth is the most isolated capital city in the world, and depending on how much time you have, the far north and the far south will show you some of the best that Australia has to offer. If you love white sand, blue water, wildlife, a small town with friendly people, you can't go past Esperance, an amazing place about 8 hours drive south of Perth. Lucky Bay, Frenchman's Peak, and heaps of the drives there will leave you breathless. The giant carri trees of Walpole and the Valley of the Giants or the Treetop walk will show you the magesty of some of our unique old growth forests. Up north I can't reccommend Coral Bay highly enough, although you've missed out on it in it's true paradise state - it's been built out by resorts now, but I'm sure it's still lovely. There's Ningaloo Reef, mentioned by someone else and which coral bay is a part of, the Stromatolite pools at Hamelin pool (a must-see for any history nut! The oldest living organisms on the planet!), Exmouth, Nanga bush station near Shark Bay, Broome and the stairway to the moon, or venture even further north to the Kimberly region, see the Bungle-bungles and other amazing rock formations. Really mate, there's a myriad of choices open to you! :)

No-one in Australia drinks Fosters, we leave it all to the British who have no taste. Sydney is beautiful and has great diving but you can say that about anywhere, really. Have you thought about Tasmania? Hobart is a wonderful city with excellent diving. It isn't tropical so you won't get coral but you will get leafy sea dragons and giant cuttlefish. You'll need a wet suit.
The scenery in Tasmania is spectacular and with Cascade and Boags you have two of the best beers in the country. The people are great too.

I agree Ningaloo reef in WA is best for diving, i thought it was a lot better the Barrier Reef - full of tourists and half dead.
Adealide for the best beer - Coopers and really chilled out people.
I highly recomend WA and SA as most tourists only do the east coast and miss out on the best bits. I only meet english backpackers on the east coast!!!
