Wow, both of you are pretty young. Anyway, I think you should spend time as friends together until you two are in high school. Then you are free to date him if you like him back.

You never can tell with seventh graders. Your best bet is to ask him if he likes you, and even then you will never know if he's giving you a serious answer (especially since you said he is the class clown). Good luck! Also, just a tip, don't use 'gay' to describe something negative. It's rude.

Either date him or say your not interested. It's only a year difference. This is pretty much the only time that year will mean anything. Right now if a guy was only a year older than me I would think he is young.

Your still too young to date and let him know it. Tell him to re-ask the question in three years. How about discussing this with your mother. She may be able to give you some advice.

If you like him too, sometimes an age difference doesn't matter if you make sure to stay safe. :] But if you don't, just say no. Make up an excuse like, "My mom won't let me date at this age..." or something similar to that. It will get you out of it.

same thing happened 2 me last year, but i was in 7 and he was in 8. its simple just say no.
