Absolutely and positively agree.
One who experiences inner peace has no conflict with another, and if there is a conflict a peaceful resolution will surely follow .... likewise a nation who appreciates and enjoys inner peace ....but it is a very rare thing to see a nation whose citizens are all enjoying inner peace ...thus the hope for world peace is a moot point, at least at this time.

Peace is not just the absence of war. True peace starts in the hearts of man.

Disagree. We will never have world peace, no matter what we find within ourselves.

Well, I for one won't be able to find inner peace within myself until I lay off the burritos. But they're soooo good!

I read somewhere that there has never been more than 40 years peace (or around that) since human civilization began. It's in our nature to be aggressive about everything!

Yes you must check yourself before you check others.
I love these verse in the Quran that tells us not to tell other what to do when we ourselves don't do it.
Most hateful it is with Allâh that you say that which you do not do” [al-Saff 61:3]
“Enjoin you Al-Birr (piety and righteousness and each and every act of obedience to Allaah) on the people and you forget (to practise it) yourselves, while you recite the Scripture! Have you then no sense?” [al-Baqarah 2:44]
You have to start with your self first and foremost.

I wouldn't hold my breath -- your plan only works if everyone finds inner peace to the same degree at the same time...

I agree. you need to be at peace with yourself before you can even begin to understand why others think and act in different ways.
