When Satan tempted Eve, he said go right on ahead & do what God forbids, YOU WONT DIE! you will have your eyes OPENED, & YE SHALL BE AS GODS...knowing Good from Evil..(Gen. 3:4-6)

Is it any wonder why people today who call themselves Atheists, has made it abundantly clear that they know they are right & we ( believers ) are wrong?
they have no need for a God, because their crap dont stink!
They are their OWN (g)od!!!!!....."knowing better than you, & you are wrong" Nothing really has changed since then, It has just escaladed down through the centuries to where "YE SHALL BE AS GODS" is now the basic mindset for any Hater of our Lord Jesus Christ!!!
Just notice most of the answers from any Blatant atheist....it's always the same..."I" "I" "I" "I" .....
THEY ARE THIER OWN GOD!!!!!....KNOWING GOOD FROM EVIL!!!!
They trust in their own God-given skills, & God-given breath!!!
But interestingly enough, When life becomes un-bearable for them, & TRAGEDY strikes........their NATURAL instinct re-action is ALWAYS the same...."Oh God "

Atheists do not worship themselves, they just do not believe in Supernatural entities or God. My brother in law is an atheist and my husband is agnostic. Agnostic is acknowledging the claims of a higher power, but really not knowing or being able to believe. These men are very smart and study everything and that is why they question.

I grew believing, my mom is grew up in Church, I have an Uncle that is a pastor, and my dad was an alter boy. I am not a particular religion, my parents left that to me. I have chosen not to choose. Because every religion is so different when you get down to the fine print. I rather believe in what I choose.

It's you, I say that cause worship is not in the Atheistic dictionary. Are Atheist selfish? just because we don't believe in a deity doesn't make us selfish, uncouthed, uncaring, unintelligent, unmoral, and whatever else impression you choose to accept as pure bigoted fact. What you are not realizing is this is the internet and this medium tends to get heated, so if you are still angry cause someone saying they are an Atheist posted something really mean as a response to one of your serious godly question oh, well get over if you only want to hear music to your ears go to a spot where everyone plays the same type of tunes that you want to hear. This is not a sacred spot if you are here you are going to hear from all.

Must be just you.

Every atheist I've personally met considers humans just an ordinary part of the universe we live in no more special than any other life form.

Every theist I've ever met considers humans one step from and in the image of an infinitely powerful being and the second most special thing in the universe.

So who is worshiping themselves?

I would not use the word "worship". That word generally refers to one bowing down to, praising or being in adoration of a superior being such as god, or some gods or some other form of a superior being. Atheists do not BELIEVE such a being exists, so applying 'worship' to them would be incorrect.
That is not to say they do not have principals or beliefs they hold in high esteem and it does not necessarily mean that they worship themselves.
Please don't spread any more confusion, we have enough already.

Well..I can't make a general statement about Atheists. But from what I know they don't worship anything. Maybe specific people do..but then they're technically not Atheists.

Worship: reverent honor and homage paid to God or a sacred personage, or to any object regarded as sacred.

Sacred: devoted or dedicated to a deity or to some religious purpose; consecrated.
2. entitled to veneration or religious respect by association with divinity or divine things; holy.

Nope. Don't see how you come to that conclusion.

I believe you are correct. It seems to me that many of the things that take away faith in Jesus Christ stem from selfishness in some form. It seems that people are always looking out for "number 1" nowadays. We see it in business, sports, schools, and even church. I think that some people get so caught up in this mindset that they end up shutting everyone else out of their heart, forgetting where their strength really lies, and relying soley on themselves for everything.
