I would define the Sixth Sense as having the ability in any given situation of "knowing" something without having logical, physical evidence. This kind of knowing comes from "feeling," thus it's a sense like touch.

Everyone, to one degree or another, has this sixth sense. It is that feeling you get when you "sense" someone is in the room yet you are unable to see or hear them. Then your friend or family member jumps up and says, "Boo!" Your immediate reaction is, "I knew someone was in the room!"

It's also knowing who is on the other end of the line when the phone rings.

I've also experienced meeting someone for the first time and either having an immediate, "I really like this guy" or an immediate, "I don't trust this person," reaction.

All of the above, would be things that happen as a result of having this Sixth Sense. Further...

Psychologists have discovered a 4th brain. We know that the brain we have inside our skull consists of three parts. The frontal lobs, the "executive branch" so to speak, the old brain behind the frontal lobs, and the brain stem or "reptilian brain." But recently, psychologists discovered brain cells in our abdomens. From this they conjecture that the reason we have "gut reactions" is due to this 4th brain in the stomach area. It could also explain that queasy feeling we get in our stomach when we are in uncomfortable situations. And it could also explain, in the physical sense, why we all have a Sixth Sense. That, "I don't know why I feel this way. I just have this gut reaction that I shouldn't be doing this."

No logic. Just a kind of precognitive feeling. This is the Sixth Sense.

Well first what do you define it as? I fully believe that sharks for instance can sense electrical fields.

It's a sense and not one of the traditional 5 senses therefore it is a sixth sense.

You only get to ask the question. You don't get to define how people answer it. Also I didn't say I didn't want to answer it. And in fact I did answer it.

I also pointed out that it was poorly defined question. But then so are 90% of the questions here.

I do. I don't know that I can define it, but I'll try. There is an energy of which we are all part of, and which flows through us all. We are all connected in that energy. If you are attuned to it, you can sense some things that you can't necessarily sense with your other senses. It may be described as Chi/Qi also.

I've felt it before, but I can't do it on demand and it also takes any number of forms...not like you can hold a card and I tell you what it is. More has to do with people.

I also think its something that, as you become more spiritual, you get more connected to this energy, and hence, your fellow man and all things.

Yes - I have experienced it hundreds of times. I think everyone has the capacity to feel it, but most aren't open to it.

The most common examples are "Mother's Intuition", knowing who is calling before you answer the phone, or waking up seconds before your alarm clock goes off.

In addition, I have known about things before or as they are happening elsewhere - my mother's multiple car accidents, in particular. I am also in a business where I must locate unusual items, which I do very well, thanks to my "Little Voice" - I just "know" where to find them (usually thrift stores with a constantly changing inventory), without wasting a lot of time searching.

yes. i define it as i "just know" something before it actually happens. it's derivation? i believe the Holy Spirit. some may call it gut instinct. there have been scientific studies done on such showing women have "it" more than men...i believe we were created (or evolved, whatever you want to believe) this way because of the ability to have children, and the need to protect our young from danger.

There is a sixth sense. It's your sense of spatial orientation. It's main organs are in your ears.

It is a feeling and you don't really realize it till after it happens. Unless you keep track of your feelings and then eventually you figure it out.

proprioception is a sense not normally counted among the five wits. (there are several others).

people who look to 'extra-sensory' abilities are almost always folk who are not even up to speed on the world as it is,
