Here is a good exercise to do when you are on bed rest. Lie on your stomach and prop yourself up by your elbows. Slowly and gently push up so that your hips remain on the floor and your stomach and chest are lifted up. Do this as far as you can without overextending yourself. After this, roll onto your back and insert a rolled up towel under your lower back.

If you perform this exercise for three or four days and find no relief it may be because your pain is not centered in your lower back. If you feel the pain more to one side than the other you can modify this exercise. The way you do this is to go ahead and lie down. Then shift your hips away from the side with the pain. Then go ahead with the exercise as described in the above.

I cured my sciatica with this natural treatment ( http://cure-sciatica.info )
Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication
I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.
I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica.

Definitely check with a doctor - could be something, especially with a fever and not being able to move. Its better to be on the side of caution and not let this progress to far. Everyone's pain level is different, especially if you are not plagued with chronic pain. So think along the lines of 1 being low and 10 really really high (just can't function, need an ambulance) and tell the doctor where you are on that scale.

Yeah, you need to poop. 2 days of constipation is usually nothing to worry about, but with the lower back pain and fever, it might be a bowel obstruction. You should be seen by a doctor. I don't know your age, your weight, whether you are fat, fit, or thin. All of that makes a big difference. Including the color of your skin. If you are looking pale, pastey, yellow. They can tell a lot from looking at your eyes.....

your lower back pain is due to the constipation, things are backing up in there and pressing on stuff. Suggest that you should see a doctor to be sure you do not have a paralyzed bowel, he can give you something to straighten things out.

Danyul is right on the button, you are bound-up and need to have a good clean-out, so take a laxative Senakot is best. Also, if you look at the Senakot website it gives excellent guidance on long term care for those that suffer constipation.

stop sitting in a chair so much and go running once a day for about 4 miles. stretch extensively, touching your toes for about 30 seconds, and then lay on your belly and push yourself up, staring at the ceiling while your legs are still flat on the ground. then, do the opposite with your butt up in the air. do each of these for about 30 seconds every single day, and eat a bit more fruit, and stop taking the laxatives, you will become dependant on them. this will be really hard to do at first, and it will be painful and frustrating, but after a week you will feel great.
