If you had 1 word or 2000 to explain Islam in a tourist guide for an Islamic country, what would you say ?

First and for most, there is Only one God, and Muhammad is his messenger, we worship God not Muhammad although we do hold him in the highest of reguard and led a life we use as an example to live by. There is so much that people do not understand about Islam, it is a religion of peace, and those that are extremist are few and far between and that they are not following true Islam. Also that the women of Islam cover because it is a command of God that is Quran and even in the Bible, and is a choice not forced, only God knows if or what will happen to that female for not wearing it. Not all Muslims are Middle Eastern and not all Middle Easterners are Muslims, Islam is a religion that is free of prejudice, you are not classified by this. Men of Islam are very respectful to women, and are held in high regard, your mother is only second to Allah.

It depends on which "Islamic" country you are referring to. I put Islamic in "" because the majority of these countries may have a majority of Muslim population but they don't always follow Islam.
If I was writing a tourist guide I would make it clear that Islam and culture or two different things.
As for what I would say about Islam, I would just give a basic run down of basic beliefs of Islam. Like what we believe and why be believe it and some of our daily obligatory routines.

that Islam and Arab are two different things. the religion is so misconstrued by the western world due to extreme fundamentalists who pick and choose bits from the Koran and misinterpret them for gains that has nothing to do with being a good Muslim. I am not an Arab but a Muslim. Even within Islam there is racism. I am an oriental born Muslim living in the Gulf area where the local Arabs look down at me like a pariah. The Arabs are a very very proud race and feel like they own Islam. You find that only in the Arabic culture where the women are subject to laws made by men. I believe in my heart that all the prophets of Islam and the Jews believed in the same monotheistic God and to me all are my brothers. I respect Christians and Jews and would save their lives in an emergency as much as i would save the lives of any Muslims. I would not harm a soul in my lifetime no matter what the reason is even for my own self righteousness. Islam is an easy religion as it emphasizes direct communication between man and God and every man has a right to believe in his own belief. sadly people like Osama bin Laden has tarnished the image of many peace loving Muslims which in turn further causes difficulty for innocent Muslims who travel on airplanes.

There is only one allah... there is only one koran... there is only one islam... the koran is The Law of allah and is binding upon all muslims... there is no such thing as a "moderate" muslim... The koran clearly states that all who do not fully submit to the law of allah are to be killed... that includes the so-called maderate muslims... unless they return to full submission to the law of allah as given in the koran.... as all muslims are sworn to obey allah above all else... what dose that make all who follow islam?...relative to the rest of the human population of the Earth... what would you call anyone sworn to obey a law that says you are to be killed if you do not submit to islam?
I call any one who is sworn to kill me an enemy.

Where does all that C4 come from? When one of them dies, do others go in and salvage from his dead body, guns, ammo and propaganda literature?
Why do they abuse their women, like the one who just killed his 16 year old daughter for not wearing her hijab?
Why do they follow a prophet by today's standards would be labeled a child rapist and be on every neighborhood watch list around the globe?
