i have one movie and save data for call of duty on my 80 gig ps3. but it says i already used 14 gigs was this for like settings of my account and stuff?

oh forgot to mention i already checked the memory of everything that i have already, the movie is converted by max media manager so it takes 200 megs, also my call of duty save is around 1 meg so my question is, is the rest possible jsut account settings?

Movies are large, and will take up a lot of space.

Furthermore, when you play games on the PS3, the game's graphics and level data is copied to the hard drive. You can check how much by looking on the back of the game case.

Plus, part of your HDD (regardless of the size) is reserved for the PS3's system use, like your account settings, system information, etc.

OS takes around 5GB. Saves, demos and movies - that depends on their sizes. Select a file, press Triangle and check it's size. I've got 5 PS3 games, 1 PS2 game, around 20 demos, a couple of video trailers, 3 profiles. It took around 30GB.

well mate you have a movie on there witch can be from 2gig up to 10gig in size.
then the game saved also takes up abit of space depending on size.
also you can not forget that the software to run the ps3(eg. the XMB layout) takes up about 5gig of space its self.
if you are starting to run out of space put in a bigger hdd. but this does void your warranty.

replacing hard drive does not void warranty... Instructions are in the manual..
