My ps3 yellow light is blinkin the light that looks like a cup?

Nothing will show on the screen but I can here the system workin

There is nothing wrong with the PS3. I read in the users manual that when the the green light on the PS3 turns yellow or flashes yellow the PS3 is too hot and you need to turn it off. It has never happened to me because I keep my PS3 in a open area.

When the PS3 gets to hot you need to let it sit and cool for a little while and then you can turn it back on and start playing again. If the PS3 cools for a while and it still doesn't work you need to call Sony.

What you have is becoming known as the Yellow Light of Death. It's much like the Xbox 360's infamous Red rings of death, only it happens much more often on the 360 than it does on the PS3. The yellow light means that your PS3 has overheated.

If you call Sony you can send it in and they will replace it for you for free.
