Al Gore is a bafoon, if he is serious about global warming he needs to do something about the energy sucking ungreen building he calls home in tennesee. The last global warming conference left a carbon foot print (attendee travel) that would require the planting of 78 million trees to offset.

Lastly, a fact, more conservation and preservation has been accomplished by hunters, fishemen and other sportmen's groups than by all the 'environmental' groups combined. While global warming is still being debated these people are not doing one single thing to help except make alot of noise.

Polarize, what has he done except make speeches and money?? He has not given up one thing in his fat rich life to protect the environment, but excpects people to change everything to the way he thinks is best....Practice what you preach AL!!

Do you realize that your crazy? I still cant grasp how so many "skeptics" seem to think global warming is a "scam" .....A scam to do what? What would be the purpose of this scam? To make money off energy efficient light bulbs? The facts are there the science is astounding. The earth is heating. Arctic ice is rapidly disappearing, & coral reefs are dieing off, species are becoming extinct. Ocean temperature's are rising. Global Warming is very real. Now if you would like to pose a true argument against global warming it wouldn't be whether it existed but whether or not its cause is by humans and not the natural cycle of earth.

No, the Gore family had plenty of cash before Al was born, and celebrities have plenty of cash without volunteering to get bashed over their position on global warming. I don't see how celebrities or Al Gore might benefit anyway, unless you bought Al's movie (I didn't. The data was interesting but as I recall the movie was far too whiney about Al's personal problems such as the presidential election he won, but didn't become president from).

No, focusing on the fact that some people have more money than us and asking us to be jealous because of that is a great tactic to distract some of us away from the issue at hand.

It also helps reveal that the deniers don't seem to have much more to go on. Pretty sad.

Interesting question. Those who truely believe in their cause as opposed to those who are merely trying to sell you something, is easliy discernable. Take Al Gore for instance. He has a "carbon footprint" 20 times the size of the average American. ($500 dollar a month bill just to heat his indoor pool) He didn't start buying "credits" or even Hybrids until 2007, when interestingly enough it was pointed out to him that he was not "walking the walk". Private jets, trips to Bali for a global warming conference, trips around the globe on a "global fact finding tour", yes he truely does care about the environment as long as he does not have to compromise his lifestyle. That is for everyone else to do. Take a look at how well Al Gore and his company (he owns 80% of it) that specializes in consulting on global warming, is doing. It is big business now. Mix Big money, politics and science and you get bad science. Al Gore's GW science falls into that category. It is the popular cause, but so is defending cop killers, that doesn't make it right.
If it was truely a global catastrophe as big AL would have us believe, then you would see those who truely believe walking the walk without anyone having to tell them to do so.
Hypocracy is the most certain tell tale sign that they are selling something, that just doesn't add up.

It's fine to be a skeptic, but at least a real skeptic will have contrary data. All you have is rantings. That makes you a denier.

Someone freezing their tale off in Canada??? What are the chances of that?

I am also in Canada. I moved here after living all over the USA. I can tell you without a single iota of a doubt that all this supposed 'global warming' horse crap is nothing more than basically another tax levied against the masses. Also it takes yet more choices away from everyday citizens and promotes corporate conglomerates making more money all in the name of the environment. It is sickening.

It's real. Never in the millions of years of supposed existence of our planet was there ever a species that existed on planet earth prior to the LAST CENTURTY that has polluted this planet like the industrial revolution has.

The answer is really that simple and you could talk till you are blue in the face but so far not one person who believes that Global Warming is "not real" has offered a shred of evidence to back up their claim.

Those pro have bent over backwards with proof but the old saying none so blind always holds true.

All you people who constantly bring up Al Gore just prove your ignorance because life isn't just Hollywood and tv-land (well in America that's all it is) but I would like to think there are enough free thinkers who are NOT brain fed by airwaves who can actually think for themselves and see the truth. The truth is our planet is toxic and we made it that way.

That is all the truth you need to know about Global Warming.

Is everyone home schooled on urban legends down there?

Sure sounds like it!!!!

There is plenty of documented facts and data, but the feeble minded of the world are too lazy to really care and just like the sound of their own voice and would rather rant and ask the same silly questions over and over and over and over and over and over....

No
God does not love us any more
Since so many are sinners .
Hell is booked full
To save himself moving a lot of people around
he decided to open up Hell no 2
its called Global warming for now
it will be called Global cooking in the end.

Obviously there will be elements that will try to make a buck on the way

This does not alter the fact that it is happening
this is absolutely true
here is the proof

No. It's scientific fact. And Al Gore has nothing to do with that. When a global warming denier talks about Gore, they're simply admitting they have no credible scientific argument.

This is science and what counts is the data.

"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”

Vice Admiral Richard H. Truly, USN (Ret.)
Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut and the first Commander of the Naval Space Command

Here are two summaries of the mountain of peer reviewed data that convinced Admiral Truly and the vast majority of the scientific community, short and long.

There's a lot less controversy about this is the real world than there is on Yahoo answers:

http://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/articles/home_page/412.php?lb=hmpg1&pnt=412&nid=&id=

And vastly less controversy in the scientific community than you might guess from the few skeptics talked about here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_opinion_on_climate_change
http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/306/5702/1686

"There's a better scientific consensus on this [climate change] than on any issue I know... Global warming is almost a no-brainer at this point. You really can't find intelligent, quantitative arguments to make it go away."

Dr. Jerry Mahlman, NOAA

I know that Earth has periods of warming and cooling naturally, but all of the things we do create serious damage. I don't think that this is a myth or anything like that and I am not sure that these people are doing it for the money I think they are in the general position for people to listen which is why they are doing it.
