muhummad parvez phoned 911 to confess to the murder of his daughter.

he would probably regard a death sentence as an act of mercy.

the death sentence is always wrong, always stupid, and always counter-productive.

but never moreso than when it does a favour to the killer.

This is such a difficult question. By human nature, people want justice for such a ciolent crime, but by killing this person, the child would not be brought back, nor would the sorrow disappear. By putting him in prison, it is a burdon to tax payers and correctional institutions, but on the other side, this man can spend the rest of his life reliving what he did and paying for it in a small cell, never having the freedom to leave or spend another holiday of any sort with his family. He will never take a vacation or drive a car. In other words, he is in prisioned within his own self as well as the facility. Sometimes I think that would be worse than giving him the alternative of escape through his own death.

He committed murder. Some people believe in the death penalty and some don't, so the views you get will be different depending on who you are talking to. I'll leave whether or not he gets the death penalty up to a court of law, but he NEEDS Jesus, so I'll pray that he has his heart opened up to hear the truth.

This is a very tough case. I think the man should live so that he can think about what he's done to his family for the rest of his life. In many ways, I think death would be an 'easy out' for him because of what he's done. In the long run, I think life in prison (seriously until he dies) would be a more fitting punishment.

He should be punished to the fullest extend of the law in Canada. Too bad they don't have the death penalty there. Not that I can tell much from the article, but it doesn't sound like he was remorseful or anything. He probably felt justified in killing her for disobeying him, so he should get life.

Don't care if he is allowed to live out his life on this earth or not. Life in prison may be the greater temporary punishment if Canadian prisons are anything like Amercan prisons, but whatever the law of land decides is fine with me. He will get his true punishment once he dies.

This girl's father will live like the walking dead- and be reminded every day of for the rest of his life how irrational, fanatical and cruel he was and how he, his family and this world are now deprived of a beautiful young woman who never realised her potential.
Death is too good for someone like him.

Of course he should be allowed to live, but only in order to be administered a rectal cattle prod at random intervals every day for the rest of his life.

You know it is had to answer. They brought their customs here and still follow them. It's against the law here ,so he is quilty. Yet, where he is from, it is probably legal. In this country we do not permit parents to kill their children. So thei family in between customs and thinks he's serving his god. I don't know if death is the answer. May put in prison and pray someone can reach him about his soul. I just don't know.

Capital punishment is no punishment. A moment of minor discomfort and then blissful nothingness. Keep him alive in horrendous conditions and remind him daily of what he has done. Make him live with the pictures of his dead child on the walls of his solitary cell.

It's pretty heinous, but it's not our job to decide, it is up to Canadian authorities. I know in the US getting murder for only 1 homicide is a stretch, but then again this was his own daughter, killed for not wearing a traditional article of clothing...
