Hi!
Now mind,Sweetie,I'm not a psychiatrist or even a therapist, but I am a survivor of abuse and I can tell you that without the proper help, your symptoms will not"just go away"by themselves. You've experianced trauma that no child should have to and i would suggest that you talk to someone. That's what I did and believe me,it helped no end. Now, as to the experiance of feeling as though you were being held and caressed?Hold on,Honey, but, you were.It was your spirit guide, trying to make your astral projection(ever have the feeling you were falling and suddenly waking up? Typical sign of traumatic survivors, and I say "survivor" because that's what you are!)
It's nothing to be frightened of,you're not losing your mind, but you do have a spirit guide(probably more than one but the one you felt is the strongest presence)And often ,we're unaware of their presence because we've been told that since we were little.
But,the primary thing to do is to see a good therapist(accent on good!) and be as open and honest with him/her as you go through the process and I guarantee results in no time!
Blessed Be!
Tl
PS Did I mention that you're not being haunted?:-)

You poor child, it can be devastaing, to have such a thing following throughout your life. But, I really think you should go to an expert, who can help you deal with it properly.
I may give an adivise and someone may give you another, but it might do you more harm then good, and we are just laymen.
As for that someone who was holding you and it comforted you, well it could be a sprit of someone you loved, or just because your mind really needed peace and rest, you I think,
expirenced, what might be called split personality. Its when your mind hides the terrified side of you by, becoming maybe another personality, who may try to save you by, such thoughs or feelings of protection.
I don't know how much you believe in sprite world, but I will tell you a insident which happend when I was about 8or 9.
We had gone to our hometown for summer, and My dad and I with grandma, were come from a festival in town. We came to a bend, and my father just stopped moving. I was riding piggyback, that why I remebered. It was as if someone was holding us by force. My grandma said, don't move just stay still, she will go away. After a while my father was moving again. He asked my grandma, what just happened. She said that ,a few year ago, a young bride had been raped and murdered, and her husband was thrown down in the side into the valle ybelow.. Now she stops anyone who goes there at that same time to check if it is her husband. She still looks for him, but people have gotten use to it and avoid that time of the nigth to the village.
So what ever you belive in, must have happened , just as you said. Its either a sprite, or just a part of your mnd, taking over and comforting that scared litttle child that you become, when you have nigthmaes.

Maybe, your so afraid because of the abuse. Sweetie u must let that pain die. It's over yet it still haunts u like a ghost. I know that it will be hard , but u have 2 take it a day at a time. Take time 2 do healing things, listen 2 soothing music, talk 2 a trusted friend, and mostly Forgive the moron that hurt u. By forgiving them u r allowing yourself the greatest healing of all. U r relinquishing the control the abuser has had over u! And once and for all giving up the ghost!!

It might have been someone close to you who passed that was watching out for you when you say you felt like your face was being carressed and took your fears away. As for the other places in the house if you were abused in those rooms they would have a very negative energy and it would linger. Since you havent had any problems in your new appartment I would think the negative energy was just connected to the house you used to live in and hopefully with you having moved that energy stayed there.

Im sure this was a ghost. Often we feel very vulnerable due to past experiences and when we find ourselves in unfamiliar places, this feeling increases. Since ghosts can smell your emotions, they take advantage of this. If they are an evil ghost they will capitalize on your feelings and sneak into your dreams, break things in your house or maybe just float around as an orb that can only be visually captured by using a digital camera with a flash in a dark room when dust particles are floating around. Either way, Im sure this ghost was a nice one and just wanted to hold you and cuddle. Sometimes ghosts can be sensitive too.

Sounds to me like it was something in the house. But I've had the same thing happen to me, feeling like someone was in the room with me or watching me especially in the shower, didn't matter what house I was in...I just figured it was a fear I always had...even as a child it happened. I just started praying all the time when I felt it until I'd go to sleep or feel better, even started sleeping with a bible and the nightmares and those feelings at nite went away.

As human beings we experience many events that leave lasting imprints on our mind and our emotions. These feelings can be caused by traumatic experiences, or possibly chemical imbalances in the brain that result in impacts on our lives which are not normal. Today they can be identified, such as acute anxiety and insomnia, where medicine is now able to put to rest those emotions that caused pain or unrest.

It is possible that your house is haunted but probably isn't. Your anxiety has returned and it seems to manifest in the manner you have described. If you can get counseling you might benefit from that. This problem probably will pop up again in the future again and again until your memories and issues of abuse have been resolved.

I'm really glad its not happening anymore, first of all. I'm wondering if a bout of paranoia was happening for a while. anxiety can really play tricks on you mind and what you see.(personal experience) I think maybe the Lord took all that away from you. I am glad you are better. God bless you!

Were you abused in your bedroom or right before you went to sleep. Maybe that's why you kept on having those thoughts in those certain areas of your home. Maybe the house or certain charecteristics about it reminded you of the old house you were abused in.
