None of these religions allow women into positions of leadership in the church...clergy, deacons, etc...Southern Baptists believe in the subjective role of women as defined by the Apostle Paul...and do not believe women should be in government either....so, these men still prescribe to religions that live in the dark ages....if this is how they choose to believe in their personal lives...how will they choose correct decisions in matters of government...your thoughts?

Separation of church and state is supposed to prevent religious rule but the line is being blurred more and more.

No. In general, the LDS church does not treat women as second class citizens. There may be some who do not treat women with respect, but this would not be in line with the church's teachings.

Women, in the LDS church, do not directly hold the priesthood but, as another answerer pointed out, they play a vital role in the church. They serve in leadership and teaching positions within the Relief Society, Young Women's organization, the Primary, Seminary, as well as serve as missionaries. They serve as speakers in church and participate in corelation meetings with the males contributing as much, if not more, than many of the men.

Just because women serve in different capacities than men, it does not make them more or less than men. They are equal to men in the church and in the eyes of God. Implying that they are somehow second citizens is an inaccurate assessment and judgemental on your part. Take some time to do some research at www.lds.org to see what our church leaders have said about the sisters of the church. Speak to some LDS women to see how they feel.

Obviously, you haven't heard of the oldest womens' organization in America--called the Relief Society that was founded by Joseph Smith, Jr.

Women in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are by no means subservient and second-class in nature. They hold prominent leadership roles within the Relief Society of the Church and have great impact on the membership. Their role is just as important as the priesthood body in the Church.

Without the Relief Society, and the women that keep it active, much of the impoverished and needy would remain so.

I suggest you look up Relief Society on the Internet and learn more, or turn to lds.org for the official statements.

Well, one would hope that the politicians would remember separation of Church and state. Whether we like it or not, Huckabee "MAY" have those beliefs. I really don't know the man. But, If Huckabee is elected, I seriously doubt women in Government would have to worry about their positions taken away from them. That could be a cause for impeachment, who knows.
Anyways, Huckabee will not be elected. The man knows nothing about foreign policy. I mean the man believed that Canada has a national Igloo for crying out loud.

You have misrepresented Mormonism. Women preach from Mormon pulpits and serve as organization presidents, teachers, committee chairs, etc, even at the global level of leadership. The Mormon women's organization, called the Relief Society, was started in 1842 and is the largest women's organization in the world. In 1870, Utah became the second state in the United States to extend to women the right to vote. Wyoming beat us by two months.

In order to get elected you need to be "religious"
All trad religions treat women badly.
It's a ridiculous vicious circle.

SINGLE WOMEN NEED TO GET OUT AND VOTE! Otherwise they only have themselves to blame.

Yep. A lot of brainwashed females out there, sad to say. To quote Dr. Phil, "You teach people how to treat you."
