the point here is that a whole slew of people followed Moses for FOURTY YEARS. if he knew where he was going it would have taken only 10 to 12 days.

when i realize they are lost

As soon as I realized they were lost, I'd take the lead and find my way on my own, giving them the choice to follow me or not. I have no patience.

EDIT: Perhaps you should read the bible more thoroughly. The reason Moses wandered for forty years wasn't because he was lost. They wandered because the Israelites sinned against God by worshipping false idols and forgetting to uphold the codes and morals they lived by. God decided that the people were too sinful to enter the paradise he'd set aside for them, so he decided that none who were involved in the sinful activity would be allowed in. They wandered for 40 years because that's how long it took them to die off. The people Moses eventually lead into canaan were the descendants of these people. Moses himself wasn't allowed into Canaan because he struck the rock twice when God commanded him to do so because it showed a lack in faith on his part that a simple rap of the rod would be sufficient to create the spring. In short, he doubted God for that fraction of a second.

Anyway, that's what I know of the story. Just thought I'd add that as food for thought.

Probably a while. It's easier to be lost together than alone. Of course, if I knew where I was going and following someone who didn't, I might set off on my own sooner.

So, do you like having "Top Reporter" next to your name? Doesn't that invite retaliation from answerers? Shouldn't reporters be anonymous?

that is a personal decision.

I know people that would follow to the end even though they knew it was pointless.

I would stop following the moment that I knew that they were lost, maybe before I even suspected it.

I tend to make my own path, because if I make a mistake, at least it was my lesson to learn and not someone other persons lesson that I had forced on me.

That depends on who. If I trust them and know that they are smarter than me about the lay of the land (like they're omniscient and infinite and I'm not) then I'll follow them as long as I need to.

Probably not too long, I would get tired and sit down to rest and they would probably go off without me and continue to be lost.

I don't follow anyone in the first place. Its my life, why trust it to be lead by someone else?

For most people in that situation it's not a matter of what if, but rather "How".
