do you think that if those 2 burglars got away with stealing from that neighborhood (pasadena, texas), they would view that neighborhood as an easy target and possibly rob again??

Of course, hell, they probably did it for a living.

But not any more. At least we don't have to worry about their recidivism rate.

There is no death sentence for burglary. With that said, I have little sympathy for them, but... I've listened to the 9-11 tapes and he was repeatedly warned that police in civilian clothes were in the area, and NOT to go outside. I am sorry that Mr. Horn was in the situation he was in but let's say he had missed the 2 and hit a cop, or a nearby child. In your eyes, you all make Horn out to be a hero. Allowing this to happen will allow my scenario to occur and both are wrong. Horn deserves a reduced sentence but what he did was a crime, listen to the tapes. You want a 80 year old half blind person shooting and perhaps missing. That is what is at stake here, either allow police to do their job or let your neighbour..

they would count it as an easy target, tell their "friends", and continue to break in to houses. they would eventually get braver and start robbing homes while people were at home. they would have to kill someone who fought back, and then the public would be "outraged" and demand action. Joe Horn stopped it all right there. he just saved someones life and they don't even know it yet.

they would have moved on to the next neighborhood, and the next and the next. again, the argument isnt right or wrong, its a sign of the times that American people are frustrated and something needs to be done!

What is the sad part? The part of an American Citizen killing two criminals? Or the part that two criminals were killed in the line of 'duty' ie. criminal act.

I think criminals should be 'very' aware that to enter anyones home in order to rob or injur them will get you dead.

No reason for the question..... they wont rob again.

its a sad situation played by race. Any intruder in your home is scary enough...and I would shoot anyone myself..even the pope if he got lost in my home.
