He was a gray haired guy, and he would draw pictures while telling a story? He always drew on brown kraft paper. It was probably on PBS. This is driving me nuts. It was late 70s /early 80s.

Are you referring to the kid series called pappy land. I think it is something like that. I know i am on the right track. But - i do not know if i said it right. It is where this old guy tells the story and he draws the pictures with it.

"Cover to Cover with John Robbins". There have been several series of this show since 1975 (the most recent edition made the rounds a few years ago). Most PBS stations air this series during their classroom TV blocks (your local public TV station's website will have the details on airtimes of what is referred to as Instructional Television [ITV for short]).

The show originates from WETA,the PBS station in Washington,DC.

The name of that show is Gather Round. It aired on PBS in the northern United States. I believe the guys name was Paul something and he also sang and played guitar.

In the UK, we had Rolf Harris (an Australian) do that sort of thing.
He had a beard, glasses and a 'wobble board' if that helps..

i too watched it and don't know the name, but that WAS a cool show!
