The usual method is to enter him in a bunch of shows (or Obedience trial, agility trials) Many female owners will not breed to a male they don't see out compeating.

once again i understand why you all say spay and nueter, i agree but that is NOT the question. and also to the poster, make sure your dog is up to breed standard and maybe put an ad in the paper or somewhere else stating you have a chiuahua for stud. any interested aprties will contact you. and don't listen to those who are rude and continually say neuter. if you want to breed your dog do it, just do it responsibly. don't OVER do it.

Oh, NO you don't.
I would bet that you dog isn't breed worthy to breed him. I bet you only paid a few hundred dollars for him & that he is only pet quality. I bet you got him from a friend, BYBer, Puppy Mill or Pet Shop.
I bet that he hasn't even been in any shows to qualify for titles or conformation ranking. I bet that he is just your pet & not a Pedigreed dog. & I think you know better than to breed him.
He may be your precious little darling but as far a as a good stud dog, no. He may be perfect in your eyes but if he were to be put up against other Chi's of quality, I'm afraid that he would fall very short of being what you think he is.
There are things you need to know lots about before you even think about breeding a dog. Not knowing these things will result in producing more poor specimens of the breed.

How big is he? Does he meet the standard? How much does he weigh? Does he have the apple head or the deer head? How about his parents and grandparents? As it helps to have an idea what he comes from, so you'll have a better idea what he'll throw.
Do you have a female lined up for him? Is she at least 2 lbs bigger than he is? Ask all the questions above about her as well. Are there any genetic defects running in either his or her lines?
Have you bred before? Are you aware that he can be hurt in the process if you aren't careful? There is an actual little bone in "there". If you aren't careful, she can break/bruise/ drastically hurt his little, um, "hoo hoo".
As for dangers to the female, chi's are prone to need c-sections thanks to their heads and tiny size. They also only typically have 1 to 3 pups. 3 being alot for a chi.
That's all that comes to mind at this point, my only real advice being, research, research, research! And if you decide to do this, find someone with experience to help out.

WHYYYY!? why do you want to breed your darn dog?!?! for a quick buck? honestly let us know why.. You have no need to breed your dog. Get them fixed! Go to the shelter and look at all the chi's that are there that are about to be euthanized. And then think about breeding your dog.
Shut up ShowDown, You know why people say fix your dogs? Because people don't realize that there are SO many dogs being euthanized every year because of more and more people breeding their dogs. There is no point in breeding your dog.. at all!

I would recommend taking him to the vet... and asking if he could neuter your dog.... that's the best way to go about this. P.S. your male dog... won't have a litter of puppies...... it's the female that does that.... and without papers, and passed health tests... no owner of a breeding worthy female will let their dog come within a foot of yours in order to breed.

First you take it to the vet and ask for neutering. Then you ask your mom about how boy dogs fo about having puppies. Lastly, you get back to class and particularly if the next one is spelling/english or science.

I got an idea!!! How about everyone spay and nueter your dogs and then in about 13-14 years, we could completely eliminate the species of canines!!!! Let people do what they want. If they want to breed their dog, it doesnt concern you, their not asking for your financial contributions...

Ask your vet when you pick him up from being neutered.

First go to your local shelter and see how many unwanted, lonely Chi's there are. Please please please don't add to the problem.
If you have to ask how to breed your dog you are obviously not an experienced Breeder. Please leave the breeding to the professionals! Please!
