Lots of pumpkin baked goods have chocolate chips in them (cookies, muffins, etc.) They go great together in those types of items.

I believe so but for me in small amounts in pie its great! what flavours do you like? whats your palette like! pumpkin also goes well in a savoury dish like pumpkin pasties or with cheese and even in soups! oh but don't use dark chocolate unless you love the stuff!

The times that they've been mixed for me, not really. I like the pure unadulterated taste of either chocolate or pumpkin! lol
