To effectively answer this question, what do you consider the "best" ssn's? I have a strong feeling you are not going to get an accurate answer for this question because there is no such thing as the best ssn. If you get something easy to remember; every time your child applies for a loan, the representative will be able to commit identity theft if they so desired. If you are into numerology, I would suggest looking up books on the subject to find out which number combinations have the best aura. I do know that the first three numbers corresponds to the place you are born. The rest of the numbers have to do with the time and day and how many children applied for ssns that day. I would suggest contacting your local social security administration for options if this is that important to you. To be honest, this sounds like it should be the least of your concerns.

Your biggest fear is that your child has the best social security number? I thought this question might be about school or moral ethics or something that REALLY matters. I feel dumber for clicking this link.
Your social security number has nothing to do with your future unless you're talking about credit or identity theft... invest in protection before worrying about what digits correspond to your identity.

What does their social security number have to do with their future?
Your child's future is in their hands. You can do everything in your power to raise your child to have the best future, but it is ultimatumly up to them, what they do with it.

This is the most throughly confusing question I have ever encountered on Answers. Seriously. What is a "good" SSN? No one will ever know your child's SSN, other than the government and employers. I am baffled.

what the hell?
um, your credit (for one thing) makes your social security number a good one. not the numbers themselves.

All social secuirty numbers are equal- there is no "better" number. It's identification. That's it.
