Most kids stay in the stroller until they're at least 2, walk around part of the time around 2.5 and after that, they phase it out so they're done by 3 or 3.5

Well, when I had my third child, I bought a double stroller for him and my middle child (who turned 2 shortly after he was born). We continued to use the double stroller until recently and my youngest is now 3 and my middle child is 5. The 5 year old walks everywhere, but I would take the double to places like the zoo. Now I don't use the double at all. I do use a stroller for my youngest, though. I would say not to take the stroller away before age 3 because little ones get tired faster than we do. BTW, my oldest was 3 1/2 when he stopped using the stroller.

My youngest is 18 months and we still use a stroller in the malls and places where it is really crowed. Where we live people are rude and they dont care about whatever they may be walking on or knocking over, My oldest was about 2 1/2 when we completly strayed from the stroller. Just about the time when we knew he would listin and not run away and he was walking really well. I dotn think there is an age where you have to stop, just wheneber you the parent feel good about it. Good luck

my daughter is 3 and i still use a stroller at the mall or when we are going on a long walk
18 mos is a little young to completly get rid of a stroller
he is certainly not to old for a stroller but it may be a good time to let him get out and walk with you in the mornings sans stroller
i dont intend on completly getting rid of my stroller till my daughter is to big for it
you really cant expect an 18 month old to walk for more than a few blocks without getting tired

I see nothing wrong with still using a stroller at 18 months. My daughter is 3 and I still have her stroller. I use it when we are at amusement parks or wherever there will be alot of walking. Like when we went to the Fair this year, I did take the stroller with us. She will get in it and then out of it whenever she got tired. Plus when she was sleepy we didnt have to carry her around either....!

I stopped using the stroller when my daugher consistently wanted to walk more than ride. I still took it along occasionally when going for longer walks when I thought she might get pooped out and want to hop in.
Your son isn't too old to be in a stroller!

My wife and I kept the stoller for our daughter until she was 3. but used it extensivley till her 2.
After 2 I have used stroller based on the requirement. Used to let my child to walk until she gets tired and then take her in to the stroller... when she looks good then to stroller and vice versa .. Important thing was to observe the child situation.

As a former retail worker, I say keep them in the stroller until they can tell you their whole name, parents name and phone number. My grandaughter is 19 months old and I'll keep her in the stroller as long as possible and we can exercise out back, with a ball and a swing set. I say keep the stroller as long as possible.

my 5 year old still jumps in the jogger when i need to go for a run. i think at about 4 is when i started letting her walk when we went shopping. before that it was impossible for me to shop with 2 little ones running around. the stroller kept them where i wanted them.
-when my husband and i go running, at the end of our run we let the kids out to do their own running on the way home with us, so they get exercise too.

You should stop using the stroller. I mean when he cant use it anymore because he cant fit into it it is going to be harder. Maybe if you have a bike put him on the bike with you in one of those chairs that will be just as fun and closer to his age. Good luck
