I had to swap people with a group crusie last year and my travel agent had no problem doing it.We were probably more than 75 days out so that may make a difference. You can ask whomever books the crusie for you .

The money you spend on the ship depends on how much you drink and shop. I have spent as little as $200 and as much as $700 depending on how long the cruise was and if I had the kids with me.

If you have booked the crusie already you can see the prices for the excursions at carnival.com. What I've experienced in Cozumel is between $39 and $100 for most excursions, but it depends on what you choose, Have fun

1. Because of the new security measures caused by 9/11 tickets are non transferable. Now that does not mean you can't send someone else in your place it means you have to let the cruise line know in advance. Since the cruise line will actually have to cancel the original tickets an reissue you can bet there will be a charge.
2.On Carnival everything is included except Alcohol, Gambling, store purchases (Jewlery, souveniers, etc.) and soda. So you need to decide how much you want to spend on those items and that is what you will need. After you have determined that number bring extra just in case. (best case is to bring a credit card but keep track because you will tend to over spend. You can check how much you have spent on all Carnival ships through your room television) Remember Carnival does not use cash on the ship; all purchases are made using your room key which is a card similar to a credit card with a magnetic strip on one side. The "card" is tied to either your personal credit card, debit card or an amount of cash you have deposited with them.
3. Shore excursions can vary in price for $30.00 (tour bus) to $300 or more (Golfing) The most desireable excursion tend to cost $50 to $100 per person. These include Parasailing, "booze cruises" (popular in Conzumel) and various beach excursions. In Cozumel you can go to the Mayan Ruins for a cost of around $75. This is a great excursion but it is on the mainland, so there is a boat and bus ride and is an all day affair. I didn't go but my children did when I was in Cozumel on the Carnival Triumph in June.

Hope this helps and have a great time.

We took 20 guest on the Ecstasy in 2006.

Carnival views a guest swap as a cancel and re-book so the fees are dependent upon how close you are to sailing.

Progresso is a developing port. You have to take a 2-mile bus ride from the dock into town.

You can get some great deals on trinkets in the open air market at the bus stop.

We did the Dzibilchaltun tour and it was ok. A ton of walking. Our friends did the horse show and they said it was OK...

There are so many more things to do in Cozumel. We really enjoyed the Caverns by Jeep tour. Dolphin experience was great fun for the kids. Submarine ride was ok but not if you have a problem with closed in spaces.

You can spend $50 to 200 per person depending on the excursion.

What is NOT included in your fare"
- tips. $10 per day per guest. $50 for 5-day cruise.
- parking @ port. $50-70.
- Sodas. $1.75 per can or $35-45 for soda fountain card.
- Photos. $20-25 per sheet.
- Bingo - $5-10 per card.
- Ship to shore telephone. $7.00 per minute.
- Gourment coffee and pastry shop. $4-8 per.
- Shore excursions. $50-200 per guest
- Spa services. $50-200 per service.

My sister skips planned short excursions and just grabs a taxi to the local free beach. She spends less than $300. My family takes an excursion at every port and we spend $750 or more person per cruise...

Don't know anything about Progreso. But in Cozumel, it is very easy to do your own excursions, and they'll be cheaper and better than through the ship.

If you just want to go to the beach and "veg out", try Chankanaab Park or Paradise Beach [they both have websites, I believe]. They are both nice, but I liked CP better [better snorkeling].

For lots of info about ports and all aspects of cruising, go to CruiseCritic.com, click on "Boards" at the top of the page. You should look at "Ports of Call" especially.

Call Carnival or your travel agent to find out about substituting for a reservation.

I have not been in a position to swap out people for a cruise reservation before. All your drinks and purchases will be tallied and you have the option of putting it on the credit card.
I have included a link to the carnival cruise line website.

Yes you could change it, but have to do through an agent, maybe have to pay a fee. Contact your travel agent for further information, I remember a pay some money for changing it, they would ask for passport or ID of the person taking your place.

Remember on this ships are ATM, so if you dont want to take a lot of money with you could borrow from machine.

you need to talk to your travel agent pronto! Yes, you can actually change the name of ONE passenger in the cabin as long as one person remains the same. The charge is $50.00 for Carnival. You MUST do it at least 48 hours before you sail, but you ideally should do it as soon as you know you cant go to avoid confusion. GOOD LUCK!
