He says it's a pretty violent spot where he is at and I dont want to get him a blow up doll and get him all distracted from his duties. :) No, but serious, what can I send him other than American snacks?

Phone cards! my nephew was in Bagdad and he liked getting those so that when he got a chance he could call home. I know hand sanitiser is also a good thing, tooth cleaner, I can't remember the name of it but you can use it and throw it away.

Harley had great suggestions... I really can add little to those who've put up answers.

ONE thing I used to love to get (back in the 80's & 90's before satellite phones and TV) were video-tapes (today it'd be DVD's) of the current TV shows!! Even mailing them we'd only be 2-3 weeks behind those good folks back in the States.

Perhaps a simple DVD player/viewer and some good movies.

Books, (just about anything except porn - military ban) videos,(again, just about anything except porn), music, whatever he likes, video games (a lot of the guys have them, I know that some even leave the machines behind when they ship home). Personal hygene items, ie disposable razors, baby wipes (non-scented preferably), toothbrushes, tooth paste, deorderant, shaving cream, wash cloths, towels. Snack foods (you already know about those). I used to send clean pillow cases and new pillows.
