How familiar are with with ASL? If I gloss the song for you - will you be able to understand enough to do the signs themselves - or would you rather I just "translate" this into modern English?

EDIT:
I'm posting the original line, with my gloss underneath

Thy little ones dear lord are we
We Your children - belong (directional toward the "God position")

and come thy lowly bed to see
Come see your humble place

enlightened every soul and mind
Give every mind soul clear understanding

that the way to thee may find
You-help-us (directional - beginning from God position toward yourself - then encompassing everyone) find path (directional toward God position)

fore thy feet O blessed hour O sweetest night
before you (presence) - bless hour - sweet night

that gave thee birth our soul's delight
happen you born - our soul have joy

draw us to thee o lord O draw us to thee o lord
us lead (directional toward God position)
Lord us lead (directional toward God position)

draw us wholly to three lord, do thou to us thy grace accord
All full us (honorific) you-call-me you-call-them give grace

true faith and love to us im -part
true faith - love - you-give-us

that we may hold thee in our hearts
why? we cling (start sign from God position and draw downward to clutch over your heart)

I would marry someone from a different country and religious background. I am from the U.S. and was raised without religion (never baptized). My boyfriend is Peruvian and was raised Catholic. There is actually another difference: language. I think that the differences between people can be beneficial in the long run. Thanks to them, I live in Peru and am able to experience a new, wonderful culture every day. I have also become fluent in Spanish, which is a definite plus as I can easily find a job translating or teaching. You make things work by having a LOT of love and patience for the other person. There are a quite a few difficulties when joining two people from very different backgrounds and social-structures, so communication and a willingness to solve problems together is crucial. Happy endings do exist - it`s all a matter of how much effort you put into making your life worthwhile.

God we are Your children
We come to Your manger (poor-person bed) to see
how every soul and mind has been shown the way to find You
O wonderful hour, o sweet night when our souls were happy because You were born
Bring us close to You, O Lord, Bring us close to You, O Lord
Bring us fully to You, O Lord and give us Your Grace
Give us true faith and love so we can hold you in our hearts
