It depends on the individual. However, it's obviously very low. From what I know of anorexia, the further the person is into the disease, the more extreme they are. so to begin with, they may reduce their calorie intake to 1000, then 700, then 500, then 300 and so on. They would obviously try to burn off most of it, however, due to lack of food would be very physically weak.

I've had anorexia for years. There is NO criteria for what nutritional intake an eating disorder sufferer will consume, and it varies a LOT. Average less than 1000, but it depends on the person and they won't always eat the same thing everyday. For example: people will change up their intakes to trick their metabolism- eating more and then less and then more and so on. Others will fast and then eat when they cannot get away with not eating. It is very very different and diverse. For example when I first developed the disease it was restricting at first from a normal (1200+) diet and getting lower but then I was just eating spontaneously when I felt I could manage or what not.. I got sent inpatient to an Eating Disorder Unit and we have to eat (obviously) but also to restore our bodily health- therefore more calories, more nutrition- but though we were eating a lot doesn't mean we're all of a sudden not anorexic anymore. It's a mental illness. You see? I'm still suffering now after several inpatient admissions.. Today I consumed 270 calories. Tomorrow I'm going to have 100 but purge them. I plan now, to provoke my weight loss- sometimes anorexics plan, sometimes they just take things as they come. Every case is different. x

Ive been on a calorie diet which changes everyday which is some days 300 or at the most 800 sometimes if I go to the gym twice a day it would burn my whole calorie intake for the day and then would be zero. Im not skinny....yet ive bee on it for a week now I dont understand how people say its bad or its an anorexic diet? My typical meals for the day
Breakfast: Coffee with milk and sugar and a banana.
Gym:1 hour cardio
Snack: Protien shake low carb
Lunch: Salted broad beans & coffee with milk sugar
Gym: 1 hour cardio-weights 20mins
Dinner: Sweet chicken wrap or 1 grilled chicken breast
Snack: Tea with milk
I dont see why I should eat more when im full on this even if some days like above would be around 500 calories

I have been an anorexic for about 4 years. It is not about how many calories you eat, it is about how you think about your calorie consumption. I eat an average of 1200-1300 calories a day WITH exercise factored in. That puts me at consuming about 1600 calories a day...which is a pretty fine number for a healthyish person. But I think about it allll the time. My day is structured around what I eat and I often cancel dates with friends so that I can control my calorie intake and/or exercise. I am 5'9" and 116 pounds (I have been recovering for a couple years) but I was 106 pounds at my worst...i was lucky because my mom was anorexic and encouraged me to be gentle with myself and work through it. I turned my disease against itself and now, instead of counting calories to see how few I can eat, i set a weekly average that i must reach. Often times that looks like not eating very much for a few days and then upping my intake on the weekend so that I can reach my goal. It has been a long process but I went from 800 average and am now at a 1300 calories average. This method has been working well for me. It is a battle, but there is hope. If you are serious about getting better, tell your family and friends but make sure to include in your statement that you need their support, not excessive pushing. I find that when I am pushed to eat a lot one day, the rest of the week is spend starving myself. so make sure to talk to them about that. best of luck!

it really all depends on the person. there was a time when i would only eat around 250cals a day though i know lots of anorexic sufferes who consume around 800-1000 but usually they arent at a critically underweight stage at that point, but you know it all depends. From my experience usually ive seen people start out with a regular diet like say 1,200 cals and then slowly they just widdle it down to an unhealthy amount. the average i would say is 400-600 calories.

There is a variation which also depends on how restrictive the anorectic is. The average is between 600-800 but there are extreme cases of complete self starvation. And there is also an extreme period of time where the anorectic only consumes from 100-300 calories a day

You cannot really determine this. Every person is different. They are people that are anorexic that eat 400 calories, some 1000. One thing that can be determined however is that people that suffer from anorexia do not enough to fuel and nourish their bodies. Sorry for the vague answer, but it is very difficult to answer.
