I usually make it in about 2 1/2 hours with no traffic, but I speed a little.

With no speeding, about 3 to 3 1/2 hours, no traffic.

Both Portland and Seattle have pretty bad traffic, so if you are traveling during traffic hour, you can add over an hour to your travel time. I-5 North heading to Vancouver during traffic is dead stop, literally, there are times where you just sit there completely stopped. Seattle traffic gets really bad from Tacoma to Seattle during traffic, you will just sit there too.

Traffic hour starts at about 3ish.

RE:
Portland to Seattle? How long of a drive?

The distance is about 172 miles and the normal driving time is about 3.5 hrs on the I-5 freeway. Recent flooding has caused some delays but the roadway is currently free and it is not raining. I would time my trip to avoid being on the road in Seattle or Portland during the rush hour when the I-5 is turned into a parking lot (especially going through Portland).

3 hours on a good day with no traffic but realistically, if you leave at say, 3pm from Portland, you'll hit traffic in Olympia and many times it's solid to Seattle (or at least from Tacoma to Seattle) and it can take 3.5-4 hours depending on traffic. If you have to be there at a certain time, I'd leave 4 hours early just in case.

Yup, Gene there had the good info. I'll add that rush hour in worst in Portland about 3-6 p.m., and that you can hit bad traffic in Olympia at the halfway point in those same hours.

Why not just use Google maps?

130k is not a lot for a Camry. If there's nothing really wrong with the car, I mean if you're not having trouble with it, I would do it. Are you tires in good shape? Any time you're in Washington it's likely to rain. Bald tires are bad news in the rain. Also before any long trip like that I would check the air pressure. Other than that, I would just jump in the car and drive!

3 hours. But since the flooding I would give it more time. I also recommend leaving in the morning around 10am.
