My husband and I are going on a cruise to Jamaica, Mexico, Haiti, and Grand Cayman.

What activities are available for people who don't want to get into the water? I see there's alot of jet skiing and things like that, but my husband and I won't do that. We don't want to do anything that requires us to be out in the ocean. Being on the cruise boat is already pushing it for us :-)

Oh I cruised this itinerary and it was great. Like you I am not a water person, but I had no problem finding things to do. Besides Haiti each offer good sightseeing. In Jamaica you can visit the falls, or the bob marley house, the rum factory, ATV ride. In Cozumel you can take a trip to the Mayan ruins. That's an all day event. Some other activities included tequila tasting, Mexican cooking class, golfing, motorcycle excursion. Also you can shop. The shopping here is the best and most affordable of any of the ports on the itinerary. Also Carlos and Charlies is great for drinks and meeting people from the ship. In grand cayman you can sight see make sure to visit hell, and the Tortuga rum cake factory, the butterfly and turtle farms. The shopping here is very expensive. You can also get drinks at margaritaville. In Haiti you don't have a lot of options as it is a private beach. They do have a market area and a zip line. You can also watch performances by the locals. If you check the cruises website it will give you a complete and detailed list of the various activities at all the ports. It also includes prices and the option to book in advance.

Jamaica - Ocho Rios or Montego Bay? If Ocho Rios, you can go see Dunns River Falls and not get in the water. There's a wooden walkway all the way up the falls which lets you see them without getting wet. [If you do this, when you get to the top, go back down to the "entrance" to leave - you'll avoid the pushy vendors at the "exit".] You could also go to Island Village mall, which is a 5-minute [literally] walk from the ship. It's a restricted-entry, albeit somewhat artificial, shopping experience and has a Margaritaville with a pool and hottub [if that's not too much water for you!!]. Don't go to the shopping areas the tours want to take you to - unless you are very comfortable fending off the pushy vendors. There are tours of estates and gardens, also, but I would only do that with a ship's tour [ditto the DRF]. OR isn't a place to go out on your own [except for Island Village], and I've read MB is much worse.

Mexico - Where? If Cozumel, there's not a lot there if you don't like the beach or shopping. Although there is a Mexican cooking class you can take and there's a great masseuse ["Cozumel Sally"].

Haiti - that would be the private island, so there will be only those activities specified in the cruise line info. Might be a good day to just stay on the ship, since you don't like the beach.

Grand Cayman - Too bad you don't like the water, because seeing StingRay City is amazing [although you could go and just stay on the boat]. There are trips to the gardens, etc there and, again, there's shopping.

You can always stay on the ship and enjoy the peace and quiet and the spa specials, etc.

Go to CruiseCritic.com and click on "Boards" at the top of the page, then "Ports of Call" for lots of info on the different ports and great recommendations for activities. If you don't see the info you need, post a question - everyone over there is eager to help. You might also check out the "Roll Call" for your particular sailing [you'll need to register before you can look at that, I think] and see who else is sailing with you and see whether there will be a get-together for CC'ers.

Have a great cruise.
