Was that a person telling the people that Jesus was not the Prince of Peace? If Jesus came to bring peace. Where is it?
Looks like the prophet was right.

That is speaking about the times to come {or they maybe here now, we do need peace} and Jesus will come back and bring it

It's talking about the state of the world. There isn't peace right now, not the peace that will be after Christ returns.

Christ is the Prince of Peace, but only if we follow Him. It is peace of the soul, not peace of the world. If people were to follow His example of peace, the world would be a much better place.

Even people that don't believe in Christ, or that believe in another deity should believe in loving your fellow man and helping them. Also, following your religion is bound to bring peace.

In the end times, a man will not be able to find his hammer, which he had put there only a minute before.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-6 says, "But of the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that I write to you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety: then sudden destruction comes upon them, as happens upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But you, brothers, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. You are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober (vigilant)."

The writer of this letter to the Thessalonian church was Paul. He was telling the Christians there, that no one will know when Jesus would return, but that they should live as if He could return as silently as a thief in the night. He said that, at that time, people will be saying that there is peace and safety, but destruction will come as fast as the pains of a woman in labor, and they won't escape. He's talking about those who don't have a personal relationship with God. He says that they won't escape this sudden destruction. He goes on to say to this church, that they aren't in darkness, and that that day won't sneak up on them like a thief. When it's referring to darkness, it's talking about not having the light of understanding that God gives to those who are His. Sorta like going into a pitch dark house and turning the light on, giving you understanding about where things are. Light always illuminates, and gives understanding. Paul finally says to not sleep, meaning to stay aware and watchful. The soberness he's talking about has nothing to do with not being drunk, but of being careful and having your wits about you. In chapter 4, Paul was talking about the coming of Jesus, and finishes his thoughts about this in chapter 5. He wants the believers to be aware that even when everyone says that there's peace and nothing to worry about, to be even more watchful. Nowhere does it say that Jesus wasn't the Prince of peace. In fact, Jesus said this about His coming: "Think not that I have come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be of his own household. He that loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me: and he that loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he that does not take his cross, and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He that finds his life shall lose it: and he that loves his life for my sake shall find it." (Matthew 10:34-39) These verses tell us that Jesus came to divide, not bring peace. While that may sound confusing to many people, He knew that it would be the only way for people to follow Him. They must make a choice, and that choice will bring conflict more than peace. This choice to "take up his cross" is a laying down of ones life in order to follow after the things of God, and live a life that's pleasing to Him. This choice will set the follower at odds with his family, friends, co-workers, and everyone around him. Anyone who has taken the path of faith knows what I'm talking about. Often, you're no longer popular and are often mistreated, looked down on, and treated like a second-rate citizen. But, it's because you're no longer a citizen of this world, but of heaven, and God's child. So, if you're looking for peace in this world, it's not happening, as you already know. But, the peace of God is a different story, which a person can have even in the middle of chaos. <*)))><
