I told the guy im into that I really like him. I also admitted how shy I am...he had a serious face and said "Yeah I understand...we should probably hang out sometime."

So my quesiton is, is that overall a good thing, and if it is, what's the next steps I should take into getting him to like me the way I like him?

Yes, that's a good thing! You wanted to spend time with him, right? Well, he said you two should hang out sometime! He's also telling you that he understands that you're shy.

Just be yourself and spend some time with him. The more you talk to him and are around him, the less shy you will be with him. Since he knows you're shy, he'll probably help carry the conversation and hopefully help you to feel comfortable. He's already interested in you if he's willing to spend time with you. As he gets to know you, he'll like you even more!

Good luck!

ya that's a good thing at least he knows how you feel and he does not mind and yet he might feel the same way. most guys would push you away or talk to you jokingly and well the net step would just to start hanging out more and getting to know each other.

talking on the phone is good. if the two of u talk and get to know one another better than he can see how the two of u get along and the better he knows u the better that hell like u (hopefully) then once u see how things go ul fell better. also going out to the movies could help a lot.

Just hang out and go with the flow!

Why would you do that? It is a big mistake to tell someone you've never dated that you "like" him. You should have just been friendly and waited. You may have scared him off.

He knows for sure that you're interested in him. If he doesn't do anything about it, he's not interested in you.

"We should probably hang out sometime" is pretty non-committal on his part, you know?

If he was going over the top to let you know he liked you , you would say he was a creep.

It's good that you told him. It's up to him now, don't be over-bearing. Live your life and maybe he will decide he wants to be part of it.

You have to do it. Relationships are built in talk and understanding.
