I've known this girl for 3+ yrs. Always been very thoughtful/ emotionally supportive of each other. Were "good" - even "best"- friends. I had GF, she was single/lonely. She knew I had GF. We'd meet for coffee, meals when we could (once/month when we lived in same country, which was only for about a year of that time)...e-mailed and talked on phone regularly in between...sent pics to each other, took pics together, gave each other cards/gifts on special occasions, including "couple's holidays"...signed e-mails with "love" sometimes...went to a "date" movie, and for a few walks...always platonic, never flirtatious...GF/others still said this was "cheating"...Girl asked me to go to amusement parks with her, to visit her in other country where she lived...I couldn't, b/c of GF...I had potential feelings for her, told her, said we'd see about the future...GF/I broke up...approached girl, she said she had BF now she never told me about...said she *never* thought of me as possible BF? Odds?

You said it yourself: you're best friends. Everything you did sounds like friend behavior to me. You never flirted with her, and she never flirted with you. You were always off limits, so she couldn't think of you in any way other than a friend. After a while, you just get used to that. I know you'd like to think she wanted you as more, but chances are, if she did, she doesn't anymore.

What were you thinking??? Sounds like you were trying to be a player & it backfired. If u had a g/f u had no business going out w/ another. Chalk it up as experience & move on.

i think she wanted you to want her and when it came to it (breaking up wit ur gf) she made up some stupid excuse she didnt wnat more than friends.
