As a Christian, I can say God is not talking to Bush. Yes, those people are fundamentalists. I don't understand how Christians can support him. This war is obsurd and pointless. I know I'm going to get some thumbs down from my own kind for this one, but it's the truth. I believe in defending our country and anti-terrorism but he is abusing his power. He is going to have to answer to God for every single one of those men and women's lives. I will not support someone just because he supposedly believes the same way I do. Actions speak louder than words.

Yeah, but look at the same rating for the people currently in control at congress...
" A mid-November American Research Group survey of 1,100 adults found just 31% approving of the job Bush is doing as president. An Associated Press/IPSOS Public Affairs poll of 1,001 adults earlier in the month found the same.
Fisher insists that discontent with Congress has refocused voters away from Bush and other national issues. The same AP/IPSOS poll found just 25% approved of the job Congress is doing. And a mid-November Gallup poll found a Congressional approval rating of just 20%."
-- From a Dow-Jones Newswires story aat http://www.nasdaq.com/aspxcontent/NewsStory.aspx?cpath=20071128%5cACQDJON200711281242DOWJONESDJONLINE000787.htm&
... These numbers differ slightly from your quote, but show Bush leading congressional Democrats by 6-11 percent.

What makes you think that everything in the world has to be church connected ? Bush is a politician . His ratings show what the people think of his political performance . The ratings say just as much about the people as they do about the president . People , on the average , are quite stupid and ignorant . They think what is popular to think , without analyzing it for actual accuracy ,

I don't think it's just Jesus freaks.
For one thing, 24% sounds pretty high for the level of Jesus freakiness that would be required.
I think it's likely more of an artifact of how the polls are taken, what questions they ask and who answers them.
If the pollsters phone up some demented Alzheimer's patient, who simply agrees with everything the pollster asks ("Do you support Bush?" - "Oh, sure, yes."; "Is your bathrobe made of cream cheese?" - "Oh, sure, yes.") - There's one approval for Bush.
They hit someone else who's not really paying attention ("Do you support Bush?" - "Huh, what? Yeah, whatever. I gotta go.") - There's another approval for Bush.
They hit someone else who's too stoned to get past the name ("Do you support Bush?" - "Ha ha ha. You said Bush. Yeah, ha ha, Bush. I like Bush.") - There's another approval for Bush.
Then they fold in those who don't NOT support him. ("Do you support Bush?" - *CLICK!* - "Well, he didn't say 'No', we'll put him as 'undecided'") - Another half-point.

you heard mitt romney the other day on his "i am a mormon but i am still a jesus freak, don't hate me speech" where he all but said that atheists and agnostics do not belong in america. For such a great nation, we do have a very low average IQ and a bunch of re%@rds for candidates. Is this all this great country can produce?

You got it! The nutcases, wingnuts, evangelical idiots, fundamentalists, creationists all cling to that jerk. They are "birds of a feather".
Fortunately, he will be gone soon - as will the religious screwballs.....and sanity will once again be able to reign in my beloved country.
