He claims his teacher is making their entire class say that. I went to the classroom and there are black and green decorations all over. I want to tell the teacher I disapprove, but I don't want to offend her. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

I definitely think you should have a talk with the teacher. She seems to be pushing her own religious beliefs onto your child (and her other students) and that violates the first amendment.

If she doesn't stop, I think you might need to get the principal involved. I am personally strongly against teachers endorsing any particular religion.

Stop worrying about offending her. SHE is being offensive. She's making some sort of political statement through her students, which is obnoxious. (I suppose it could be a religious statement, but somehow I doubt she's actually a Satanist. They're usually better behaved than that. Regardless, that would make it no less or more appropriate.) She can say whatever she wants. Dragging her students into it, however, is seriously objectionable.

I would object if she forced the students to say Happy Hannukah. It's a church/state separation issue. (Unless it's a private Hebrew school.) But she's taking it one step further and making them acknowledge a holiday she just made up. Teachers should not be teaching fiction as reality.

I would go to the teacher first and confirm she is making kids say that. (As opposed to your kid making it up. They do that sometimes.) Tell her you object. If that doesn't work, take it to the principal. Absolutely, absolutely, absolutely.

Confront the teacher and notify the school principal, she is most likely looking for someone to make a big deal out of the situation anyway.

There must be certain approved guidelines for the school staff. The Principal should be informed about it. If the teacher has violated the code of conduct, she should be fired...

are you kidding me? You *must* be joking.

But if you're not, he's in serious violation of the church/state separation by pushing his own religion on your kid.

If you're serious, I think you need to take it up with him directly first and ask for his explanation, but it's so flagrant that you will probably have to involve the board. Good luck.

you don't have to talk to her to risk offending her. talk to the principal of the school and tell him/her that the teacher is forcing her religion on the children. that is illegal.

You should offer her a sacrificial goat and a few barrels of wine. That will solve everything.

you need to stand up against that. It is truly wrong and you need to be strong in theses decisions. God will protect us. Dont be afraid to speak up/ They try to take out prayer, why would they allow this. God is in charge
