The FACTS ---

Human life does NOT begin at "conception," (fertilization) any more than is the case with any other species of plants or animals. The human reproductive process consists of three stages, and different entities in each: RPEs -- Reproductive-Process Entities. ALL of which are human, unique, and LIVING *potential* people.

People (or "human beings") exist only from BIRTH on. The RPEs before that are: (1) gametes (sperm & ova), (2) zygotes, (3) embryos, and (4) fetuses. No fewer than a **quadrillion** potential people are electively aborted DAILY, worldwide -- by men. While the doltish and ignorant (and brainwashed-by-disinformation) Anti-Choicers look the other way and whistle a tune. WHILE hypocritically seeking to make life miserable for over a million girls and women a year in the USA in their support of a loathsome agenda that would FORCE them to gestate UNwanted pregnancies to term, against their will. Abortion is nothing more than a hugely-valuable REMEDY for an UNwanted medical condition. Totally harmless, and affects NO *people*. This analogy fits it perfectly:

RPEs : people :: acorns : oak trees.

The remedy of abortion puts the lives of 57 million a year back on track, worldwide, and immediately RESTORES their level of future opportunities to PRE-ill-timed-pregnancy levels.

SENSIBLE people know that there is NOTHING wrong with abortion, and that's why 2/3 of Americans have been compassionately and fair-mindedly PRO-Choice, very consistently, over the last 30 years. [More to follow...]

--"Roadrat" -- Sensible and fair-minded Christian. (RRR cultists... the pseudo-Christian "Religious" Radical Right... which comprises only a mere -- but very noisy and obnoxious -- 6% of Americans who *profess* Christianity, should NEVER be confused with ACTUAL Christians. The other 94%. Who generally are your low-key, sensible, tolerant and UNobtrusive next-door neighbors. There are 250,000,000 *actual* Christians in the USA. If we were *anything* like the RRR cultists, America would be a theocratic tyranny that would make Iran look good by comparison.)

To "ddking37" -- Abortion is merely a harmless, and very valuable REMEDY for an unwanted medical condition. It is not remotely a "religious" issue. And it is right for all U.S. women to access -- as they CHOOSE. (Being Pro-Choice means upporting the right of all women to CHOOSE either abortion OR gestating to term... without any outside interference.)

To "ddking37" -- I said that abortion wasn't a religious issue, but posted it to this section because so many MISREPRESENT it as being so. As for your being both Pro-Choice and Christian -- so am I. MOST actual Christians are sensibly Pro-Choice.

To "k716" -- Anyone who sees all of the FACTS pertaining to abortion, but remains willing to see girls and women FORCED to gestate to term against their will... IS doltish and ignorant, and without excuse as a human being. Whether or not he/she professes to be a Christian.

ALL babies have been BORN.)

Actually the bible even says its ok:

What the Bible says about Abortion
Abortion is not murder. A fetus is not considered a human life:

If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life. -- Exodus 21:22-23

The Bible places no value on fetuses or infants less than one month old:

And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation shall be three shekels of silver. -- Leviticus 27:6

Fetuses and infants less than one month old are not considered persons:

Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them. And Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD. -- Numbers 3:15-16

God sometimes approves of killing fetuses:

And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? ... Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. -- Numbers 31:15-17
(Some of the non-virgin women must have been pregnant. They would have been killed along with their unborn fetuses.)

Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts. -- Hosea 9:14

Yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb. -- Hosea 9:16

Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up. -- Hosea 13:16

God sometimes kills newborn babies to punish their parents:

Because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die. -- 2 Samuel 12:14

God sometimes causes abortions by cursing unfaithful wives:

The priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell. And this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, to make thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amen, amen. ...
And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people. And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed. -- Numbers 5:21-21, 27-28

God's law sometimes requires the execution (by burning to death) of pregnant women:

Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt. -- Genesis 38:24

I am not a christian, but I am very much a believer in abortion. What you say here seem to be well researched and thought through. Thank you for posting this I hope a lot of people will read and understand it. Abortion is a valuable remedy.

Gosh, I wish the world was really a simple as simple minded people like to believe it is.
So I guess you are going to adopt all of them unwanted babies right, or hire surrogate mothers to incubate all the frozen embryos.

Because if you are not willing to do that then you should shut up and quit pretending to be such a saint.

Maybe you could campaign for better job conditions and higher pay so the poor pregnant women can afford to raise children instead of abortions, but that would likely conflict with your real religion of unbridled capitalism.

Deut. 30:19-20 -- This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now CHOOSE LIFE, so that you and your children may live.

Psalm 127:3 -- Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward.

That's the bottom line. All your name-calling ("doltish and ignorant and brainwashed-by-disinformation Anti-Choicers") does is belittle and devalue your opinion. That's ok though; you're entitled to your opinion. And Jesus warned us we'd be mocked and called names. Of course it's usually not by someone who claims to be a Christian. But we'll still forgive you.

Anti Choice folks claim abortion kills babies. Maybe they need a basic science course? An entity is not a baby until the mother births it. Abortion destroys embryos and fetuses, not babies.

Nice pejorative language they have working!

The ONLY difference between a fetus and a baby is the location of the person and how developed the person is.

If a person is just born, we are not allowed to kill him/her. That's murder.

5 minutes earlier, the person is inside the womb. We can kill him/her, because that's abortion.

So, 5 minutes of maturity and 6 inches is all that is between life and death of a person. Is that where we want to draw the line?

Some people say that late term pregnancies should not be aborted. OK, where do we draw the line. 8 months? 7 months? The only difference still is the amount of development and the location.

Doesn't make sense to me. A person is not fully developed until they are past puberty. Perhaps we should allow them to be killed until they are 18 and call it abortion then.

Crazy world.

hmmm. very informative. got a question: what do you call it when an atheist will NOT get an abortion? aren't all atheists (thinking people) smart? when an atheist woman (my fiance's ex-wife) will not get an abortion, what does that mean?

add: oh, 'scuse me for presuming that there was a religious point to all this, since it was asked in R&S. btw, i am pro-choice for very personal reasons and a christian, does that make me a "thinking moron"?

Abortion is murder. you don't even give the baby a fighting chance. you kill him/her before they even gets into the world. you could have a killed a priest, doctor, our someone God has planed to make a cure for a illness but we will never know because you killed him/her by having a abortion.
