NOOOOO
PLease do not use caulking, that is for joints in hardi plank, wood and maybe the tub and such. For tile please use tile grout.

I am not a professional. I have, however done major renovation and repairs on several homes I've owned. I would not use caulking instead of grout. The method used to apply and spread the grout gets it in between all the little cracks of the tile and if you use a sealant, it will be water proof. Caulking, like that used in a bathroom would not stand up to the pressure of people walking on a tile floor repeatedly.
This is just my humble opinion.

Only for small repairs where some grout may have come out.

No. Caulking is not made to be walked on. You would have dirt embedded in the caulk soon after applying it.
