Maybe if they did it like the 24 hours at Lemas, or Daytona.

Start the race later, race through the night, finish in the am.

It would get the die hard fans to go, and not so many wannabes.

And you could still watch on TV if it is aired.

Suppose they did it at Road Atlanta, rather than an oval track? That might be something. Make it a 1000 mile endurance race for the Cup cars, then start the Nationwide cars halfway through for 500 miles. It would rival LeMans!

No, even at Daytona or Dega, thats just too long.. I could not imagine having to put up with that ESPN/ABC coverage for 1000 miles, thats to much Rusty for most people, and probably 3000 commercials...1000 miles is way to long, the 600 at Charlotte is long enough...I could not imagine watching single file COT racing at Daytona or Dega for 1000 miles, I'm sure we might see some crashes, but I think it would be way to long and boring..

I don't know that the cars used in NASCAR currently have 1000 miles of racing at one time in them. The 600 miles of the Charlotte race is pretty stretching the limit already.

I would like to see that for a exhibition race of some sort--Maybe on a track like bristol where the laps are in the 15-16 seconds per lap range!!!!

He might desire to be feed the suitable of feeds and conditioned on a daily basis in case you think of basically going into an section and driving for a jiffy is condiditoning that isn't any longer. the pony might desire to be galloped and trotted for a number of miles at a time fairly much on a daily basis. in case you haven't any longer have been given him conditioned and get worrying and permit or make him pass too long and not undemanding he might finally end up with colic and you could unfastened your horse.

too long i think...Its hard for folks to sit thru 4 hours and more of normal coverage on a sunday afternoon....Your talkin bout an 8 hour race....and it will prolly come down to the last lap anyways....Maybe Nascar shoul do HEAT races since they love the green white checkers and red flags near the end anyway.

God NO! They have trouble getting viewers for 500 miles. And it would be 900 miles of boredom, with 100 mile of caution filled ending (engines blowing up, and wrecks).
