Try to not 'hang on' to it. By that I mean go ahead and cry your eyes out and be done with it. You sound young which means this will happen many times in your life and you will survive. The very best way to stop thinking about your own pain is to do something for someone else. There are some people now especially around the holidays who are truly hurting with terminal Cancer or family members killed in Iraq or just financial problems. You need to leave your place of sorrow as soon as you can and do something for a sick neighbor ( bake cookies) volunteer somewhere to help the poor or homeless animals or just take a fun class like dancing to keep your mind off your own problem which will next year be forgottern. You are right it sucks but try to move forward ok? I feel for you but you will be stronger and no doubt you learned something from the experience. Best wishes

Well no sh** it sucks to have a broken heart. It is what everyone who dates someone has to think about before you get into a relationship with someone.
As we grow up we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to let us down probably will. You'll have your heart broken, probably more than once, and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it feels when someone broke yours. You'll fight with your best friend and maybe even fall in love with them. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry cry because time is passing too fast and you'll eventually lose someone close to you. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt, because every 60 seconds you spend angry or upset is one minute of happiness you'll never get back.

Those are my words of wisdom for today (even though i did not make it up myself, it is all true) The best way to cure that broken heart is to get back out, find someone and start over. finding a new person to love makes letting go of the last love much easier. Good luck to you

Not a question, but you will get better. Let me explain.
I'm 50, and married to a great lady, but a few years ago a younger woman and I were close to.....well I think you know. She's a lovely lady, cute, smart, but I never made the move.
Sometimes I regret not moving on her, and tehn she found a man, same age as me. So I know I was in the running. ANd yes it hurt....but I'm kinda over that, but still have a thing for her!!

Its not your fault to have broken heart.
Its just that the relation was not meant to be, move ahead and you will see much more blissful times ahead.
Its same with all of us, but next time you love someone, its even better.
Strange but true.

The only thing you can do is try to get better. Do something that takes your mind off of your life like writing watching a horror movie or something adventurous.

We all get our hearts broken at one time or another. And we will all break hearts! It only makes you stronger and more sensitive! It will pass. No worries! Peace!

it feels like you need someone to mend the broken heart. it sure does suck, you give all your love to this person, and they break it. it will take a while for your heart to heal. hugs to you

Everyone goes thru this...funny thing is that...it usually heals thru time....
I had a heart broken once..and it takes me only one week to heal...and when I look back...how easy it can be healed...I realised that..I dont love him that much that I thought it would be....trust me...eventually you will go though it...
