there's a lot to take in to consideration on that one, those didn't do the best on gas even when they was new, have the computer scanned on it to see if it has any bad sensors that could possible help with it getting bad mileage, also make sure they check the plugs in it ,right there could be where your as mileage is going to,if there old and worn it will drink gas.you should also have the filters changed.its possible all it needs is a real good tune up sometimes it the simple things that causes that too happen, they should be able to find out where the gas mileage is going to real easy,if not find a good shop that can repair it,good luck.

There are several things to look at here, and several questions that need to be answered. First of all, how are you figuring your fuel use? The Caravan has a 20 gallon tank, so unless you are filling the tank completely and then running the van until it is very very close to out of fuel, something is not making sense!

Assuming the engine is running well, (no missing or rough running) and the transmission is shifting correctly (not in limp in mode) There are several things that you should check! The first thing would be to check your tire pressure, to be sure that you have 35 PSI in each tire. I would also check for a bad catalytic converter, and inspect the fuel lines to be sure that there is not a leak.

If you are buying all your fuel at one station, and especially if you are putting 20 gallons in that vehicle according to the pump, try a different station! It could be that the pumps are not calibrated correctly, either accidentally or for other not so honest reasons! I would also consider a locking gas cap, it may be that your fuel is being stolen when the car is parked!

Make sure you're plugs and wires are good and if so, change out the up stream O2 sensors.

I THINK YOU HAVE A PROGRAMABLE TRANSMISSION. STOP AT A TRANS. SHOP AND TALK TO THEM ABOUT IT.
