Hello. I am an atheist, I attend church nearly every sunday - sometime during the week. Everyone in the church knows I am an atheist. I am the treasurer of the church. I AM seeking the truth, but a truth that is not doled out to me, but one I am free to search for and find for myself. Have a good day.

I like to go to church occasionally to keep up with various styles of preaching and changes in service. However, I'm rather nervous this week because two weeks ago when I slipped and fell into an empty pew, there was a crack of lightning and the damned windows imploded, firing stained glass right through my brain. Cheez, just before fainting, I thought it was a miracle.

I live right next to a catholic church and would love to attend their services every once in a while. They don't know I'm an atheist so I would have to tell them. In doing so it would forever embarass my father in law who attends every sunday. So I need to find another one.

The main reason I want to go is to see what they are preaching to people these days. See if it is any different from when I was a kid.

There are only 3 reasons that I go into a church:
1. Wedding
2. Funeral
3. To admire the architecture and artwork.

When I travel, I visit churches because they sometimes are interesting buildings. When there is a special service for a churchgoing relative (like marriage), I will also attend. But more than that, why should I visit a church?

I don't go frequently now, just with the family at Easter and Xmas. I used to attend regularly through the first 37 years of my life.

I only go into churches for the marriages and funerals of family members and close friends. I haven't gone to a church service in 23 years nor do I plan to in the conceivable future.

I go to bible study once a week. The pastor there knows that I am an atheist. He enjoys me being there. I have a different perspective on things. I am never disrespectful. I just don't believe in any gods.

I used to go to the York minster when I was a teenager but I have to say it was the best way to pick up foreign girls our age, also my former headmaster was a guide there so we used to make his life miserable as often as possible, now it costs you a tenner to get in and it aint worth it,nope I don't do weddings, funerals or christenings and people never ask me that know me.....

Thats an interesting question. I think that there are a number of atheists who attend Unitarian services.
