To determine hours, put the following formula in cell B1

=ROUNDDOWN(8*A1,0)

To determine the minutes, put the following formula in cell C1

=MOD(8*60*A1,60)

Assuming an 8 hour day the following hours and minutes should be calculated.

Hours = 3
Minutes = 28.3296

You could also use the rounddown function to make the minutes a whole number.
