will japanese games work with the american ps2?

i'm thinking about buying
NARUTO-ナルト- 疾風伝ナルティメットアクセル2
but not too sure if it would work on a normal ps2 someone with experience help me out?

Officially, no. Unofficially - get a modchip installed and you'll be able to play. But it's ILLEGAL!

Yes and no. My son has advised me that some games can be played, but others may need a converter. Best bet is to google the game and find out if it needs a converter.

ya they should u will have to get a 80gb PS3 if you want to do that.
