I suffer bad to severe cramps & quite honestly live on painkillers to ease the pain & on several occasions my life is put on hold due to the severe dysmenorrhea. I currently use various drugs, like IBUPROFEN, BUSCOPAN PLUS, NO SPA OR DICLOFENAC. Currently using IBUPROFEN & NOSPA, but was advised to use the diclofenac in place of the ibuprofen, if the pain persists. How can i live less on these drugs as i'm being held hostage by drugs every month.
P.S, exercise has not been of significant help in the past.

I would try some hot compresses to you lower abdomen. Also, has you gynecologist suggested puting you on some sort of birth control pill ? That can have a huge effect on heavy bleeding and cramps. If you're a smoker you shouldn't take them, so you'll have to decide. If I was in your position and had a chioce, I'd seriously think about it. The thing about ibuprofen is that it does reduce the inflammation, but it also can thin your blood somewhat making your period seem heavier. I'm sorry, but I'm not familiar with Nospa, but it must be similar to the advil or he'd still have you taking it. Really, talk to the doctor again about the pill and see if there is one that might help. I'm sorry you're having such a bad time. Good luck and let me know. Get a hot water bottle or a heating pad in the meantime.

i like ibuprofen for pain, but it can seriously tear up your stomach. some of the newer anti-inflammatories are easier on your stomach. heating pads may help. birth control may help (but it does take some time). you may benefit from the pills that help reduce your period in either days or how often a year. endometriosis may be causing part of your pain. there are some treatments available. ask your ob/gyn about those options.

Alternate systems of medicines will only help you.

There is no way than to follow Acupuncture.

Naturopathy will also help for acidity, constipation mainly.

Walking, singing, dancing if possible will help you.

There is no medicine for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.

Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES,
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, BODY CONSTITUTION etc are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.

Pain killers don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.
The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more.

Try evening primrose oil capsules! Yes sounds silly but many people who have the same problem, tried it and it worked. However you have to be on them everyday for six months before you will notice any improvement. Likewise if it works, you will need to be on them for the rest of your life. I do not know why they work, outside of having a anti-inflammatory effect. Work colleague had Endometriosis and was trying for a baby! I told her about evening primrose oil and she has four! When she told me she was pregnant, I told her it was nothing to do with me. She now advises females with menstrual problems to take evening primrose oil. Me, well I was happy for her, but told her to stop at four!
