Islam never forbid friendship either with men or women. You can be friends but just take care of yourself...by following the Islamic rules and avoid zina.

Clearly such a zinnah relationship is forbidden in the Qur'aan. Also explicitly haraam and unacceptable by family and Muslim community. The Al-Hadith states "When a man and women are in a relationship without any baraqa of nikah, then satan is the third among them." Dont interpret the Qur'aan according to your own opinion! In completeness of Islamic prescribed manner, find a spouse and embark on nikah.

Hazrat Abu bakr said to prophet muhammad PBUH that i have sent an invitation to a woman to marry me
hazrat muhammad said that have u looked at her.he says NO

then prophet muhammad said u should look at her first because it will increase the love between u

in case of being friendly with each other it is better for uto stay apart as mentioned in the the holy quran and sahih hadith

As long as they have sincere intentions in not going over the top, they can but if they fear anything else then they should refrain but still show respect to each other.

Strictly speaking, yes, but they can't be alone together. There has to be a (male, I think) member of the woman's family present.

Otherwise, as we saw from the recent rape case in Saudi Arabia, both the man and the woman (who were both victims of the rape) can be punished (with 200 lashes, I think it was).

Don't forget, though -- Islam is a religion of peace...

you can not be friends cause it could go wrong - think bout all the teachers female or male , what happens between the pupil and themself - Islam knows the future and what could happen

assalam alikom sister
there's nothing in Islam called friendship between a man and a woman...it's not allowed for women to hang out with men other than their husbands and family members like father, brother and uncle.
the relationship between men and women outside marriage should be very limited for necessity.

HOW ABSOLUTELY AWFUL THAT YOU EVEN HAVE TO ASK THAT QUESTION!!!!!

Men and Women are EQUALS... and have a right to be friends with whoever they choose same sex or not. No one has the right to tell you otherwise.

Why on earth do so many people still hang on to the archaic, repressive... prehistoric belief system?? Quite honstly I am insulted as this puts shame on all those women who fought (and died) for the right to be considered equal.
