Reminds me of a story I once read probably 15 years ago. i was working in a factory, and all the ladies there brought in their favorite peridodicals, namely the Globe, Enquirer, etc.
There were the normal stories about alien babies, etc. Of course, Elvis was big as well...sightings, ghosts, etc. A taxi driver had a story about having given Elvis a cab ride, proving that Elvis was still alive. He was holding a $100 bill, what he claimed was the tip that Elvis gave him. His whole proof was that $100 bill. I remember his quote. "Elvis was in my cab, and I have the $100 bill to prove it". Apparently, this gentleman thinks that only Elvis has access to $100 bills.
It's the same level of proof. Since something isn't understood by science yet, it automatically means that religion has the answer. The funny thing is, all through history, religion has had answers that have consistently been proven wrong by later scientific advances. From the make-up of the heavens, to the position of the earth in the solar system, to the earth being round, science has been proven right, over and over. How anyone can use the lack of scientific understanding as proof of ANY religious belief is simply astounding. It's like they never give up the idea that this time, they must be right, in spite of their historical performance on the correctness scale.

even if we suppose that some divine force have set these things in motion, then who created these things and the divine itself?! what have set the divine in motion?! you can't prove a fairy tail. evolution and/or change is a fact and no one can deny this fact! it starts from simple and gets more complex as it evolves. god as we know it, is very complex therefore it couldn't have been there before anything else. religious people argue that we can't use logic and natural science in order to explain god since it is super natural!! you can not talk logic with these backward and brainwashed people! peace

Here is an interesting thought for you... Energy does not die, it only changes form. Some people believe that this concept of "God" is simply the very fiber of this Universe. If God is the fiber of the universe, and if we are connected to this fiber... then it would indeed support what Jesus implied to the Pharisees: That God is part of us all, thereby making us all cells of the body of God.This would help to explain how our individual quantum fields directly effect the responses we get from the universe. If God himself is pure quantum energy and pure quantum energy is the fiber of the universe, then the saying that "everything is possible with God" seems to make more sense. It would seem that the mortal idea that God is a being or entity of some sort would indeed appear to be rather primitive.
My theory: "God" is pure energy... the very fiber of this universe which we are connected to and part of. It flows within us and through us and we travel upon it and within it.

I do not see the evidence that the universe is winding down. Our best and latest scientific observations still show that the universe is in fact gaining speed. things are generally moving apart at an accelerating rate.
This however, is even more puzzling than the alternative. It has required them to remoddel what they knew about gravity, dark matter, dark energy, and the age of the universe.

You do realize most of them don't understand the concepts? And their information about most sciences seem to be 50 years out of date..
It's pretty much cut and pasting what some moron has put up in the carm site...usually. It reads like it's about scoring points, not actually proving anything. It's like how the "Ha, so you do BELIEVE the sun will rise tomorrow" is also proof.

I think the definition of God as a universal spirit or force that hold the universe together as one to a workable degree, and represents the energies of harmony and creativity could work. The part of my definition of God that would be harder to prove, would be that God hold individual spirits together to various degrees. I don't think you can use the normal senses to prove the spiritual. Intuition I believe is a requirement along with your inner sense of confidence that your beliefs are working well in your life.

People who make those kind of remarks are morons. Some people say the man walking on moon was staged. After sometime they will say 9/11attack was special effects.

Read "Introduction to Christianity" by Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger. He is a theologian and I am not. He explains it in great detail.
Or if you want a shorter explanation, try "Reasons to Believe" by Scott Hahn.

it does not...
but if they can convince you that there is A god, then their next step is to convince you that it's "their" god....
a simpler task by comparison, because then the "popularity" argument get's stronger, and you can use emotional arguments as well...without having to rationalize the supernatural..."this god is better than that god because....yadda yadda yadda"
