You are correct. The real God is unconditionally loving. Unconditional means no conditions are necessary.
If god is perfect, She could not have made any mistakes.

Matt 7:14 "But small is the gate & narrow the road that leads to life, & only a few find it."....Message version: "Being & Doing Matt 7:13-14"Don't look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with surefire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time. Don't fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do. The way to life—to God!—is vigorous and requires total attention...........There is a heaven and there is definitely also a hell. Even people who say they are Christians, if they do not make every effort to live like Jesus did, they aren't going to make it either. I know all are forgiven, but one passage that everyone needs to think about is "the gate to heaven is narrow" and I am quite sure this means all these "Christians" who go to chruch and put on quite a show, and even think they are being good, are in for a rude awakening, because in their hearts, where Jesus really resides, they are lying and deceiving, truely, anything short of Jesus behavior, and He never sinned , every, anything short of that, and not recognized and confessed is not good news !! I think many many many people who say the love Jesus really do, but Jesus says "I am the way the Truth and the Light" , notice the word Truth .......... our world today is full of so many lies I feel like I am choking. I am 56 and have seen days when lies were bad, now they are accepted, Go thru your day, and think about even the ads on TV or in the stores. Greed has taken over our USA and world and lies are the "way of the world". Each of us knows this, we just don't like it. Take those rewards cards in most stores. They are NOT for you, they are so the company can gleen everything you buy, and only carry what sells for them > Is this what Jesus would do, or would he want things on the shelves that made you life easier and happier, not booze etc, just making it easier to get what you need,. The stores, ESPECIALLY CORPORATE, do you feel like they are there for you ? I worked in one. their "rewards" card gave them $5 back if they spent $500 in 13 weeks at that store. WOW, WOW, & I saw using their credit cards to make sure they spend $500 in 13 weeks to get their "reward" Do you think $5 is a REWARD ??? It wouldn't even pay the interest on the credit card charges. Stop and think.

Since I am an atheist, there would never be speculation such as "if there really is a god." Yes, I will die - eventually - and so will you. What happens to me is that I either get buried or burned to ashes (I haven't decided yet, but it doesn't really matter, does it). No, you don't go to heaven. And don't worry, you won't go to hell, either. You don't go ANYWHERE.
The only "understanding" you need is to ask yourself these two questions: (a) Do I want to abandon all my reasoning faculties by agreeing with my friend (that I would go to hell); or (b) do I use my innate intelligence to determine, through reason and logic, whether there is any evidence or proof that hell or heaven exist outside of "faith?"

Your friend was right? It does not matter what you believe now, but rest assured that before you die you will be given the chance to believe and trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and that is up to you. No one leaves this life without that chance. Please read Romans 10:9-13 KJV Bible. The chose is up to you but believe me once you see God as God and Jesus and Jesus and The Holy Spirit and The Holy Spirit, your life will be so much more full and joyful. You may not have everything in this life you want but you will have everything you need and you will have the assurance of a Home in Glory. May God Richly Bless You

I think if you are an atheist and dont believe in God Then you dont believe in heaven which means you cant believe in hell or the devil as each one cant exist without the other. If you think 'what if ' then you not an atheist merely and agnostic. Maybe this will help, I hope I got the right book and Chapter as its been a long time since I went to Church.
John 3 16
For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whosoever believes in him shall be saved and have eternal life.
So only a believer can go to heaven, the rest unfortunately go to hell.

If you are an atheist you are choosing not to believe in God therefore you will not be in Heaven. Why would God let someone who denied him on Earth and did not believe go to Heaven to live with him for eternity? It's sad but they will go to Hell. That's why we as Christians need to plant the seed in their minds and the Holy Spirit will take care of the rest! Someday EVERYONE will believe but that day will be to late. They will see God and know that they were wrong and for not believing the punishment is death in Hell not everlasting life in Heaven.

If an all loving God sent it's creation to a final "hell" because that creation did not have the correct knowledge, how loving would that God be??? Man made religion has so many holes in it that it doesn't hold an once of fact.

Lets see.
Lets assume, that you are an athiest. Now that you dont believe in God, why wud you want to believe your friend that you would go to heaven/hell?
The fact that you are not a believer in God, is a reason enough for you not to believe in any Life after death. That means an athiest DOES NOT believe in God or life after death.
But lets say, you do believe in God, may be you dont trust him (/-yourself) but you do feel on and off that there does exist God, what are you going to do about it.
And if your doubt is indeed a reality, when God does exist and you only have a slightest of doubt about his inexistence, or may be you just dont want to obey him. Hmm, if thats the case, we have a problem. Hell on your way darling.
Why wud you not believe in God, btw?

I wasn't raised in a spiritual family individuals and that i actual did no longer in simple terms 'bypass alongside with it'. no longer something significant 'occurred to me' to make me religious the two. for a protracted time I had the sensation that some thing wasn't incredibly splendid with the worldwide and that i wanted solutions. be conscious: i'm a Buddhist, by way of ways.

If you die without believing and accepting Jesus Christ as your Saviour yes you will go to hell. There is no second chance, like you get to heaven and say I'm sorry. You have so many opportunities here on earth, and so many reject, why let them live a sinful life than let them change there mind, just because they saw HIM. That would just be using and abusing God, Jesus's blood is not a liscense to sin.

Not Pascal's Wager again!
I'm sorry, but i'm not convinced by that scare tactic. Why? Well, I'm convinced that God(s) doesn't exist, but let's set that aside for the time being.
How do I know I'm following the right Religion? How can anyone say with any authorty that the Biblical God is the real one, or Allah?
Also, I'm a very moral person. I refuse to believe that a God would send me to suffer in hell for not believing in him when there is absolutely no evidence for him.
