I have a 5 year old girl, a 3 year old girl, and 2 babies to buy Christmas books for this year. Can you give me some good suggestions? I know of the real popular ones like Good NIght Moon, Where the Wild Things are etc. but they already have those.
P.S. The 5 year old girl loves horses!

There are some GREAT Veggie Tales books out there. They're funny, but have great moral lessons with them. I also love, "Guess how much I love you."

Sandra Boynton board books are great for babies and toddlers (my 5 year old still likes them, too). Try Moo, Baa, La La La, or Barnyard Dance.

Eric Carle books are great. Animals Animals Animals is a collection of animal poetry that appeals to a wide age range.

Some of my 5 year olds long-time favorites include Fiddle-I-Fee by Will Hillenbrand, The Paper Princess, by Elisa Kleven, The Owl and the Pussycat, by Edward Lear, and Custard the Dragon, by Ogden Nash.

The frog and toad books are good. Nursery rhymes are good for the rhythm, and, because some of the words are so old, they're new to the children and that leads to vocabulary development.

For the babies, I'd pick cardboard books with really simple stories that are told mostly through pictures. Maybe one or two sentences per page. My baby came crawling over to me with such a book tucked under one arm for me to read so I think that books that are safe for them to grab and carry are the best.

The Moon in my Room

Guess How Much I Love You

I Love You So Much

Love You Forever

My son (2) also likes to read any of the Berentsain Bear books.

you mustn't could desire to tell apart between the two genders at their a while: they are going to the two love books with the help of Dr Seuss, Donaldson and Scheffler, and Jill Murphy. the significant project to remember while paying for babies books is to right away study by using them first. that isn't any stable in case you do not think of you may savor reading it to them! this could be a issue with "product placement" books (alongside with Disney, Fireman Sam or Dora) that have not particularly been written with babies in ideas yet are in ordinary terms spin-offs and a fashion for a corporation to get wealthy off the decrease back off promoting and television exhibits. whilst babies could savor having something on the subject remember of their prevalent coach or movie you, the reader, will right away slip right into a coma as you study.
