He is both, being energy of energies and the final insolvent in which everything gets dissolved.

When most people think of God, they think of Him in His glory in heaven. So, the question, "Is God male" usually refers to God as He exists in heaven. The Bible always refers to God using male pronouns. Does this mean that God is physically male? In other words, does God have male sexual organs? Surprisingly, the Bible does address this question indirectly, through a number of different statements about the nature of God and what He is like. Jesus said that God is "spirit."8 Although not defined extensively in the Bible, a spirit is an entity that has no physical body. After His resurrection, Jesus told His disciples that He had returned in bodily form, saying, "a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have."9 If God is a spirit as the Bible says, and a spirit has no flesh or bones, then God cannot be male in physical form. God is not male, since He is not a physical, but a spiritual, being.

God is a spirit. The most perfect people are those who have their feminine and masculine aspects creating a perfectly harmonious personage, strons and sensual, intelleigent and understanding, the best of both male and female traits in a person makes for a perfectly mentally balanced individual.
Hence God is a Man, perfect in understanding, humanity, compassion and love. A perfect androgonous spirit. Genitalia was created for the purposes of reproduction. an interlocking duo creating a one whole. A spirit, a state of being, When we are in love, that euphoric plethora and heavenly state of elation and happiness is the closest we become to him, also when we are heartbroken and and in that plateau of pain, whereby the brain releases endorphin like tranquilisers to prevent trauma causing excessive damage to the nervous system. hmmmmm

The Church of England Book of Common Prayer starts THE Lord's Prayer, " Our Father which art in heaven-------"
Christ himself speaks of God as his farther.
The points to me are this, that until recently in the West the male was the dominant figure (still is out East) and so a man would treat his farther with utmost respect as head of the family (this did not mean his mother was to be treated with disrespect) It follows that God would be referred to as a male ir is easier to understand. The modern argument is one for the sake of argument by Women's Libbers and is not to increase knowledge but but rather to use as a weapon against men and is therfore a distraction.

Jesus described God as a father, which is interesting when you think about it. He could have just as easily described God as a mother, which in some ways makes more sense.
But the love of a father and mother are different. Fathers seem to expect more self reliance and independence from their children. They like to see kids figure things out for themselves without a lot of outside interference.
Of course, we all need the love of a mother and a father. But Jesus seemed to indicate that God loves like a father...not a mother. Maybe the motherly love is up to us. Maybe that's where Mother Teresa got it right.
