hi i have a few tattoos and i also started getting tattooed at sixteen, I'm twenty four now and one of the tattoos i had done young was great at the time now though.........ew i hate it its cheesy and rank and going to be very hard to cover up. i think you should be allowed to make your own decisions. was your sister given permission cos if she was this is a bit unfair. my advice is be very careful in what you have if you get one. stay away from names, cartoons and any thing that cool at the moment. some peoples age can be guessed by there tattoos cos of the in trend at the time. swallows where hot back in the fifty's and although they are cool again now and old school is back in it wasn't for a long time and remember "Dreddy" and "taz" tattoos, so not cool.be wise and pick some thing that means some thing to you not just cos its cool at the moment.

sorry if i offend any one with the tattoos mentioned above?

No, it's not legal for you to get a tattoo as a minor without their consent if it is allowed even. It's most likely not. Any shop that will tattoo you despite what the law reads should not be in business. They aren't treating you like a baby, they are following the law. Deal with it, only two more years and then you can get whatever you want. Your sister broke the law, bottom line. Don't follow her steps, it looses trust with parents and really isn't worth it. Being 16 doesn't make you any more mature or know who you are yet. Wait it out, see how the next two years ago. I bet you will want something different and at that point, you can do it legally. Look up state law, call shops and don't try to take your sister with you. The hassle of going about it the wrong way takes more effort than waiting until you can. Laws are there for a reason, show enough maturity now to respect your parents.

-Has nothing to do with being trashy, and it's not our place to judge her since we don't know her. Tattoos don't make someone trashy, the person would be anyway if they are with them.

I don't know how your sister got all of those tattoos without a parent's or guardian's permission. And I wouldn't go to an artist who would tattoo a minor with or without a parent's permission.

Your mom may not like tattoos or she may be concerned that at your age, what you think is a cool tattoo now, you might not like 5 or 10 years down the road. Tattoo removal is expensive and not always complete.

play around with temporary tattoos for now--you can find and buy some nice ones or have them made. Some tattoo artists will make temporary ones for you. Depending on what you want they can cost as much as a permanent one. Or play with the henna tattoos. These are things that can be removed with baby oil or fade after a short time.

when you are 18 and have money of your own, then you can get tattoos without your mom's or dad's permission. Just remember that what you get inked on your body is permanent and not a simple thing to remove after you get tired of it or it no longer fits your life.

By the Holy Ghost I'm learned as I read there are times when Jesus is talking and there are times when the Father is talking. Like Jesus said, "I hear I say and what I'm told I speak." You must understand whom is actually talking to at the time. For the Israel people to become a christian they would had to leave their Mother, Father (home), brother and sisters and even their children to follow Jesus and follow his Gospel. But the word "Fail" is not in the Scripture. It said, "But he Shall recieve a hundred fold." Then he said to do so you will gain so much more back as when you are Born Again in the Holy Ghost makes everyone that is also Born Again your brother and sister for we are then have but one Father and eternal life together.

Did you mother let your sister get her tattoos or did she just come home with them?

Either way, your mom is obviously experiencing guilt now about it and you are feeling the repercussions of this.

Why the fuss? You only have two years until you are 18 and able to make this decision all on your own. I know that it seems like forever to someone of your age, but it's really not all that long.

Face it, as long as you and your mom are in contention over this it is going to effect everything between you and if you keep pushing she's going to see you as more of a child rather than less. Bite your tongue on the topic, ride out the next couple of years without this argument casting a pall over your relationship.

Do try out the temp tattoos or talk your mom into letting you get a henna tattoo at a renaisance fair. (They wear off with time.) Making this kind of compromise could make your life much happier.

lol i think 15 was a reallly immature young age for your sister to get tattoos. maybe your mom lost a little control with your sister and let it slide when she got tattoos, and didnt like how they looked, so she doesnt want you to turn out like that. your prolly her last hope hahhahaha. But if you really want a tattoo, id say try telling her that you are very mature for your age and your not going to be like your sister and have 7 tats. Just say that you only want one meaningful small one and that your not going to let it get out of control. Then when your 18 and she cant do anything about it, you can get more done if you want.

I think that 16 is a bit young for a tattoo. I had one when I was 20. How can you be sure that when you're so young as 16, you'd still like it when you're in your 30's?

Why not wait a couple of years, but spend your time getting ideas for the design? Ask your mom if a semi-permanent tattoo would be okay?

Different people has different expectations of themselves, does it matter if you dont have a tattoo? If you are beautiful you are better off without it... if your not then I think you are trying to show as much of yourself as it conflicts with your moms opinion, just think about this, whether you being a mother would like to see your baby with a tatoo or not and decide, just like that...

Your mom is smart for not letting you do something that drastic at such a young age. You might end up regretting it in a few years. Sounds like your sister looks trashy by now. Wait until your 18 and can get it legally.
