...Prayer?
I do.
If so,could you please say a prayer for my 82 year old dad who just suffered a stroke, and is slipping quickly into severe demntia? It is simply BREAKING my heart. It came upon him suddenly.
Thank you so much.Hugs...

'Seven Cost...'--Interesting edit there...
(You simply typed 'sorry about your dad'--then moments later added,'but prayer will not help...'--after I gave you a thumbs-up.)

yep sure will... I will send some prayer and kind thoughts however i think that unfortunatly you should be preparing yourself gradually for the worst as the inevitable will happen to us all eventually.. just make what time you have left with him a happy time which i guess will be be fairly difficult with your dad (Joe) suffering from dementia.. Its really awfull to loose people that you love yet we all have to go through it..
Im not really a religious person but I have prayed that it all works out in the end...
Best Wishes

There have been a few studies into the power of prayer.
The reliable ones found that it is about as effective as a sugar pill. Some found that it has a negative effect because the patient felt that they had to get better because they were being prayed for.
The best thing for healing is to do what the doctors say, and try to install a calm and relaxed attitude in the patient. This give the body the best chance to heal itself.
I am sorry to hear about your dad. I would suggest that you stop wasting time praying and spend as much time with him as possible.

6 years go i had a baby boy he had heart trouble he needed an op the doctor said it was a 50/50 chance he would survive but i prayed and i prayed for 5 hours that he would pull through and he did his now a healthy little boy....
if you pray hard enough and believe that he will get better then he will...

Yes, I believe and I've real experience about that. My gift is healing. If it is God's will, he will be healed.
I'll keep praying for him,
take care.

I'd advise you to "pray" for the best for your father without putting your own personal preferences in the equation.
